Storyline

Major Dan Keller works as a computer programmer for NORAD. The aliens need a window to bring in a great many saucers, so they can establish a base. They place one of their own as Dan Keller's new wife Laurie. She hypnotises Dan into replacing a crucial programming tape with one the aliens have prepared - one which will instruct NORAD's systems to ignore certain images. Written by CommanderBalok

Goofs

The back-up NORAD computer reveals the Invaders fleet flying over North America. The bank of 6 clocks read 8:21.5 - 1:21.5, then 8:22 - 1:22. The Invader fleet then disappears off the screen. The next shot of the clocks read 7:10 - 12:10. See more »

Quotes

Narrator: [Opening Narration] A physician reports the death of a woman. Two hours later, her husband, a NORAD Major, reports her very much alive. The news accounts attracted no particular attention. But David Vincent knew that an alien, unconscious without pulse or heartbeat, might easily be mistaken for dead, even by a doctor. So he arranged to visit NORAD's Combat Operation's Center, 1,400 feet below Cheyenne Mountain and a natural target for the Invaders.

Good But...

The invaders want info from NORAD, so Vincent must deal with a Major with attitude, and his wife.

This is a season opener. Are you new to this series? Intro required. In it's day this series was once described as a show for "graduates of Irwin Allen". Meaning fans of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea will like this series but you may need to think a bit more than you did with Voyage. The series also has much in common with QM's The Fugitive series (1963-67), in fact after watching all 43 episodes of The Invaders you will have a desperate desire to get The Fugitive DVD box set (all 120 episodes of it), just to keep yourself in that QM-man-on-the-run world. But back to Invaders season two opener.

Condition: Red is a fine episode but it is not a great season opener. An opener is meant to give the viewer a hint of what lies ahead in the coming season, Condition: Red does not do that, in fact it makes you feel that season two is just the same as season one: which it is not.

Season two is filled with better plots than season one, but not better music.

All episodes about the US military are good and this one is no exception. The beginning and end of this episode use a very memorable tunnel at the end of the road, I know the tunnel has been used in 100 other shows, but I just can't remember which ones?
