Miscellaneous 

Detective Pembleton jokingly says that Detectives Briscoe and Curtis were sent to them, once again, across the River Styx by Charon, who was the ferryman of Hades in Greek mythology that carried souls heading for the underworld across the river. However he pronounces Charon incorrectly, as most people do. Most people pronounce Charon "Chair-on" but the correct pronunciation is "Sha-rone".

Plot holes 

In addition to the other reasons stated in the previous submission Dr. Janaway's colleagues, and the doctor himself, violated standard medical ethics and practices by letting him treat his daughter. For obvious reasons medical personnel are not allowed to treat immediate family members because it is much harder to remain objective and impartial and it's much easier for emotions to cloud judgment.
