Woman of the Year goes undercover.
18 January 2020 | by Sleepin_DragonSee all my reviews

Hetty's up for Lancashire Woman of The Year, but a trip down the stairs sees her black eyed, her appearance fits the bill for a case, in a woman's refuge, to discover how a young woman died.

It's a quite serious story, despite the often mix of light hearted moments. You could imagine the biggest betrayal for a woman in a refuge could be another woman. It's an impressive series finale, despite Hetty's line of stand by to repel borders.

Actor Chris Hargreaves adds some real life villainy to the character of Gary, he's a little cartoon like, but fits the role. Rachel Davies was particularly good as the neurotic Myra. Agatha Christie fans will spot Irene Sutcliffe, who played Helen Rance, she appeared as Miss Gorange in Bertram's Hotel.

A particularly good episode. 9/10
