Quotes

Hattie Kelly: [upset about being left behind] You dirty rotten coward.
Web Cutter: That's about enough Hattie.
Hattie Kelly: I hate you. Get out. Get out! Go on, both of you get out! I wouldn't have either one of you.
Web Cutter: Either one of us?
Hattie Kelly: Why, you didn't think I cared did you? I would have had one of you shot the other before I was through. Mister pie don't cut three ways.

Be careful whom you marry

Here is a nice tale about life in the rural west and the wicked ways of some women.

It begins when Matt, treating his horse for a leg problem, meets a boy named Yorky Kelly on the prairie that has also lost his horse because of an injury. He tells Marshall Dillon that two men rode away with his father last night and he was trying to track them when his horse stepped into a prairie-dog hole. He says that the men had his father's hands tied and he was not sure why they were taking him.

Matt sends Yorky to Dodge for Chester and some fresh horses and Matt goes to the Kelly's farm house and meets the boy's step-mother that Yorky claims is 'no good'.

Sure enough the step-mother, Hattie, appears to be a dance hall woman that Matt gets suspicious as if she is covering up some situation. She claimed that her husband rode off with the men to show them a trail. But we find out that the two men actually rode off to kill Mr Kelly so the they could split the farm and land with Hattie.

A nice tale that was interesting from beginning to end. Perhaps not the most entertaining of shows but one that kept you attention to the closing credits. Good watch.
