The survey says...Richard Dawson!

This episode was highlighted by the performance of Richard Dawson(Harry Beamus), who plays it both quirky and straight, as I didn't know he could actually act in a serious role, but he does a plausible job here. Without going into either story in depth, Beamus' fantasy is to be a very lucky betting man, as he's a sad gambler whose lost his house and family because of his addiction. The other story, while still pretty good, didn't have the same effect on me as Dawson's story. A woman named Edith Garvey(Kathryn Holcomb, who didn't do much else after this)has a fantasy of being a torch singer from the 1920's like her mother. Look for a cameo by NFL Hall of Famer Dick Butkus playing a tough guy as usual, and a fairly solid performance by Edd Byrnes as the love interest. Back to the other story, look for a familiar face for fans of the epic Salem's Lot(1979)in Brad Savage, who played Danny Glick in the vampire film, and plays Beamus' son Joey, and gives a fine performance also. What Fantasy Island episode would be complete without disco dancing too? There's also a scene which has Tattoo dressed as a martian in another quick story which only includes 1 scene, and I don't think I'll ever get over seeing him in that outfit. To sum this up nicely, I recommend this episode for the performance of Dawson, although I never knew he could actually act.
