Doesn't Measure Up
19 September 2011 | by ccthemovieman-1See all my reviews

This was one of the rare weak episodes in this great first season of "Car 54, Where Are You?' The premise of the story is simple: stricter regulations are making the cops be more aware of meeting weight regulations.....and height. The latter has Francis Muldoon all upset because he measured himself and he gained an inch since joining the force, putting him at 6 foot, 7 inches, one over the limit.

Almost the entire rest of the show is him moaning and groaning and doing what he can to try to appear shorter, so he won't be fired. One joke is fairly funny: Toody wearing elevator shows to make the difference between he and his partner less noticeable. Otherwise, it goes on too long with nothing humorous.

Shari Lewis is billed as the guest star but she really only appears for a few minutes.
