Trivia

This show was a reunion of sorts for Wesley Lau (Carl) and Grandon Rhodes (the Doctor) as they had appeared together in several episodes of Perry Mason, Seasons Five through Eight (1961-1965), as Lieutenant Andy Anderson and the sitting district court judge of the day respectively. See more »

A routine plot with an entertaining script.

In this episode, Carl Armony has moved into a house we can only assume in a nice residential area near Virginia City. Carl is an old friend of Ben Cartwright and it just so happens that Ben is over doing some roof work for Carl. Carl is a sickly man that seems to have some serious breathing problems along with possible trouble with his heart. When Carl has a spell in the presents of Ben, it is determined that Carl needs some help and they call Carl's sister, Claire, to take care of the sick Carl.

While Claire is looking after her brother, it seems that Claire and Ben begin to like each others company. It goes so far that Ben is going to ask Claire to marry him with the approval of Hoss and Joe. But we will learn a troubled past about Claire and Carl and the reason that Claire feels trapped by her only family member that is still alive.

This is another episode of one of the Cartwright men falling in love only to find problems by the end of the script. Even though it is an often used theme, the story was interesting enough to give the episode a nice touch compared to others. The writers gave the story enough serious drama and humorous lines that there was always something entertaining going on in the show. With a nice supporting cast, the episode proved to be an entertaining watch.
