Trivia

In real life, Calamity Jane (Martha Jane Canary) never met 'Doc' Holliday: she actually was in love and pursued 'Wild Bill' Hickock. Doc Holliday did have a bad cough, as suggested in this episode, from his tuberculosis. He died in 1887. See more »

Goofs

Doc Holliday is portrayed by Christopher Dark who when this episode aired was 43 years old. Bonanza is set in th1860's. Even as late as 1869 Doc Holliday, who was born in 1851,would have only been 18 years old. Holliday earned his degree in dentistry from the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery when he was 20 making it highly unlikely that he would have been in Virginia City Nevada. Likewise Calamity Jane would have only been 17 at the end of the 1860's compared to Stefanie Powers who was 21 at time of this episode. Calamity Jane's connection to Virginia City was that her family moved from Missouri to Virginia City, Montana in 1865. See more »
