Weak Leadership On Two Major Fronts
25 May 2007 | by ccthemovieman-1See all my reviews

I have one major credibility problem with this story, at this point, and that is that Saunders would have - had this been more realistic - released at least one more vial into a big city to show he meant business. The fact he didn't makes no sense. He had all the power and he wouldn't risk it, as he is doing now, just to get his daughter away from C.T.U. where all she was doing was being questioned. All of this makes no sense but, after 21 episodes, I'll just go with the rest of whatever happens.

At the beginning of this show, what happens is that they are all following Tony to see if he leads them to Saunders. Along the way, he gives Jack trouble. This is disturbing to me. On one hand, you can understand is devotion for his wife and to do everything he can to make sure she's unharmed, but trading her life for millions of people. The head of the C.T.U., as difficult as that dilemma may sound, would save the millions....but not Tony Almeida, which makes him a poor person to have in that position. I hope he doesn't keep his job.

The same, sadly, goes for the President, who now has stooped to hiring a thug to steal back Sherrie's evidence. This is a man who has stood for the high ground since Day One of this show (I am assuming) and now is doing things that are far beneath him. I hope he loses his election, which is justice, too. Wow, have things changed on this program in the last few episodes. The only thing that hasn't is the star of the show, Keifer Sutherland as "Jack Bauer." Maybe HE should be President!
