Cool to check out.

When I first saw the advert for this show, I was interested to check this out. The idea was to make a UK Music Hall of Fame where the groups and singers who have influenced the United Kingdom the most from the 1950's to the 1990's would be nominated to enter it annually. To add spice to it, there would be five automatic places in the HoF, these went to The Beatles, Madonna, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley and U2.

The nominees for the 1990s were- Blur, Dr.Dre, Missy Elliot, Nirvana, Oasis, Prodigy, Radiohead Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Robbie Williams and Spice Girls.

The nominees for the 1980s were- Bruce Springsteen, Beastie Boys, George Michael, Guns N Roses, Joy Division, Michael Jackson, Prince, Public Enemy, REM and The Smiths.

The nominees for the 1970s were- Abba, Bee Gees, The Clash, David Bowie, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Sex Pistols and Stevie Wonder.

The nominees for the 1960s were- The Beach Boys, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross & The Supremes, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel and The Velvet Underground.

The nominees for the 1950s were- Billie Holiday, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Cliff Richard, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Little Richard, Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis.

The winners were announced on Thursday 11th of November 2004 at the Hackney Empire in London, and was shown on television on Sunday 14th of November 2004. The finale featured people such as Bono, Priscilla Presley, Rita Marley, Madonna and Ronnie Wood accepting awards.

Also on the night, Jeff Beck & Beverley Knight performed a Bob Marley tribute, The Polyphonic Spree starting the show with a huge tribute to The Beatles 'Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' album and Brian May and Roger Taylor, the guitarist and drummer respectively of Queen played two of their biggest hits 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions' with Free and Bad Company legend Paul Rodgers replacing the late, great Freddie Mercury. The show finished with Brian May, Roger Taylor, Paul Rodgers and the Polyphonic Spree performing the Free classic 'All Right Now'.

Of course, one thing still to come was the winners of each decade. Joining Madonna, U2, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley and The Beatles were Robbie Williams for the 90's, Michael Jackson for the 80's, Queen for the 70's, Rolling Stones for the 60's and Cliff Richard for the 50's.

Overall this was a very interesting 1 month and a half, and I'm very interested who'll be the inducted next year and also who'll be replacing the winners in the nominations of each decade. Overall I give this 7/10 for the show and another one for Queen's induction. 8/10.
