A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war is being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possesses it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasts off in search of it. He eventually tracks it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sends him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forces him into a paralyzed state. His body is later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, but before going into a comatose state Megatron uses the last of his energy to engrave into the Captain's glasses a map showing the location of the Allspark, and to send a transmission to Cybertron. Megatron is then carried away aboard the Captain's ship. A century later, Captain Witwicky's grandson Sam Witwicky (nicknamed Spike by his friends) ...Written by

Since there were no running 2009 Chevrolet Camaro automobiles during production, Saleen Inc., working with the Pontiac GTO and using Camaro designs from General Motors, was able to build a running Camaro in thirty days, to serve as Bumblebee's alternate mode. Saleen also provided one of their S281 automobiles (a modified Ford Mustang) to serve as Barricade's alternate mode. See more »
(at around 2h) After Megatron and Prime fly through the building and land on the street, Megatron throws Prime down onto the crosswalk, hitting a silver parked car, with 4 other cars on the street. In the following scene from the same view, Prime gets up from much further down the street and has to run up to the crosswalk to fire his gun, and only 1 car (a black parked car across the street) is now on the street. Before time began, there was the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born. For a time, we lived in harmony. But like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil. And so began the war. A war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death, and the Cube was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home. ...

SPOILER: There are three scenes in the closing credits:
the first two scenes are of Ron and Judy Witwicky, who were told about the Transformers, trying to bluff their way through an interview about the recent alien events.
The third and final scene is of Starscream flying into space.
This film is all about one thing for me watching big robots beating each other up and in this film that was a success. The autobots led by Optimus Prime are in a battle with their long enemies the Decepticons of this greater power called the All Spark. With many scenes and performances by the human actors we get to the final fight scene which is literally one of the craziest fighting scenes ever. The performance of Shia Labeouf, Megan Fox and the other soldiers are good but the whole point of this film really is around all these transformers fighting and when they do it is a marvel. Michael Bay is well known for big explosions and action but in this film it is perfect and he gets these encounters between these different transformers as good as it possibly gets. This film is fun, exciting and action packed leading to a great 2 1/2 hours that are fun and easy to watch.
