User Reviews

Excellent comedy in Malayalam, in the top 5 of ALL TIME
27 January 2009 | by detroitmalujoeSee all my reviews

I must admit that Godfather is in my top Malayalam comedy list, along with In Harihar Nagar, Nadodikattu, AkkaraEakkare and Kilukkam.Disguised as a drama feud between two families as being the plot, the plot is delivered with so much comedy that it is first and foremost a laughing bonanza. The dialogue that's delivered in this movie is great and you need to understand Malayalam to really get the full effect - most times subtitles do not serve the local colloquialisms justice. If you like a good, old Malayalam comedy and have not seen this one you are definitely missing out.

The actors do a great job with Jagadish, Mukesh and N.N. Pillia commanding the leads. N.N. Pillai in his old age played the role of a disgruntled, senile patriarch of a gunda family perfectly. The events that unfold in the movie are great - the music is entertaining as well!
