Storyline

The Hollywood Palace (1964-1970) was a weekly variety show on ABC staged at the former Hollywood Playhouse. The show's specialty became transforming the set via pieces splitting apart or flying in. This transition broke the normal scheduled commercial breaks. The unique design, revolving guest hosts and singers/comedians kept the show alive until 1970. In this Bing Crosby Christmas Special, Bing and Kathryn Crosby, with their children Harry, Mary Francis and Nathaniel host Christmas themed acts with stars Cyd Charisse, Bob Newhart, The Cuban Cossacks, Roy Fitzell and trained dog act Excess baggage.

Nice Best Of Moments from Bing Crosby's Christmas Specials
18 November 2017 | by Christmas-ReviewerSee all my reviews

I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 400 (C H R I S T M A S ) MOVIES AND SPECIALS.

BEWARE OF BOGUS REVIEWS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW. WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE PRODUCTION. NOW I HAVE NO AGENDA! I AM HONEST! I REVIEW MOVIES & SPECIALS AS A WAY TO KEEP TRACK OF WHAT I HAVE SEEN!

This special was originally broadcast in 1979. Bing passed away in 1977. If you grew up watching his specials you were sad to hear of his passing.

In this compilation is a moments from fifteen of Crosby's annual Christmas Specials. Includes guest stars such as Jackie Gleason, Fred Astaire, and David Bowie, with over twenty-five songs, including "White Christmas," "Silent Night," and all of your favorite carols.

This is well put together special. If you love watching classic television specials then this is the DVD for you
