This Columbia semi-musical two-reeler features "Big Boy" Williams (Spike) as a professional prizefighter who enrolls as a college freshman with the intent of signing the school boxing champion to a professional contract with Spike as his manager. Written by Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
This short eventually gave birth to the Glove Slingers comedies that Columbia later produced from 1939-43. Guinn "Big Boy" Williams is the star of this enjoyable short as a struggling fight promoter who enrolls into the college as a way to sign a young man into a contract.
There's a bunch of comic scenes, including Williams punching everyone in sight and a wacky fight in the boxing ring, as well as a musical number from Louis Prima and his orchestra. He would later appear in the Glove Slingers short Pleased to Mitt You.
