Sex & Nudity

  • A brief sex scene lasting 5 seconds at most. No nudity is seen.
  • Some mild sexual references.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is shot
  • There are several decapitations throughout the film. Most are very violent and stylized.
  • The gore is frequent and disturbing, but it is very stylized.
  • A man is sliced in half with two swords width-ways, after a long fight which involves stabbings with daggers and scythes, although with little blood. This is one of the more gruesome scenes; however, it is mostly scene in silhouette against a bright moon, and the body is never inspected.
  • A tree is cut open, large amounts of blood gushes from the trunk and severed heads fall out.
  • A man's arm is sliced off.
  • A boy in a torture chamber sees a woman's corpse and lots of blood gush out from an Iron Maiden; he puts his hands on a board of spikes and gets many bloody cuts on his palms.
  • A woman purposely cuts her palm and rubs the blood on a man's back.
  • A horse is shot.
  • The horseman grabs the hair of a young boy, he decapitates him (off-screen) and is later seen stuffing his head into a sack.

  • A woman cuts off a bat's head and squeezes it into a pot.
  • A dead crow's leg is sliced off and brewed into a potion.
  • A woman's face turns gray and corpse-like, a snake comes out from her mouth and her eyes shoot out from their sockets.
  • A small dead bird is tossed on a table.
  • A man is impaled, he survives.
  • A woman's corpse is dissected and is later revealed to have been pregnant.
  • The horseman throws a spike through a window, impales a man, pulls his body through the window and beheads him. (one of the most graphic scenes in the film).
  • A man is hit over the head with a large, wooden crucifix.

Profanity

  • Hardly anything, only uses of 'damns' and 'hells'.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some drinking of wine at a party.
  • A man drinks from a flask outside the morgue.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Very atmospheric and intense throughout. The death of a young child may upset some viewers. Many discussions about death, headless bodies and graphic decapitation. The whole movie also has a campy and darkly comedic undertone to it, so nothing in this movie will really traumatize anyone.
