The machines that Buzz was fighting in the beginning was a spoof of when Kyle Reese is fighting with the machines in the Terminator. Also the planet and the machines look very similar. Even some sound effects were used in both films.
Die Hard (1988)
Ernest Rides Again (1993)
Slinky Dog gets stretched apart in the airport similar to Ernest being pulled by the fish hook from the motorhome people, and screams AHHHHHHH in a similar manner to the fish hook in Ernest Rides Again, also notice that Jim Varney voices both Ernest, and Slinky dog.
