When a small town is invaded by aliens from outer space who are capturing and killing the townspeople, no one takes them seriously. Why? The aliens all look like circus clowns, use weapons that look clown like, and all have painted on smiles. Only a few of the young people in the town realize the danger and of course no one believes them. Armed with an ice cream truck they try and rescue their friends.Written by

There are interesting similarities between The Blob (1958) and this movie. Both have a first victim who is an old geezer living in a cabin and who has a dog. Both movies have a decent cop named Dave who does not believe the young people, and a crabby older cop who seems to have a grudge against young citizens. See more »
You can see the clown's zipper in the costume at 33:20 mark. It's the scene where the little clown with the green hair confronts the biker who destroyed his tricycle. See more »
The version shown on TV doesn't include the biker's head being "knocked" off by the clown riding the bike and subsequently going into the garbage can. However, the TV version does include an extra scene not in the video that deals with Debbie telling Mike about her fear of clowns while they are in the spaceship for the first time. See more »
I know bad when I see it. As a MST3K fanatic, I've seen the worst of the worst and loved every minute. I rented Killer Klowns thinking it would be so bad I'd groan and laugh the whole way through.
Gasp, Killer Klowns isn't bad at all- it's creative and funny. This movie doesn't take itself seriously, and that makes for fun time for everyone.
It's a contemporary monster movie with a 1950's Blob-ish feel. The Chiodo Bros. demented sense of humor, simple and coherent plot, kreepy-looking klowns and decent cast of actors makes for an entertaining Friday night movie.Pair this one up with The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra and you've got yourself a great double-feature.
