This TV mini-series was based on much-praised novel by Mario Puzo. The novel tells the story of the Angeluzzi-Corbos family, a family of immigrants living an adopted life in New York City. The head of the family is Lucia Santa, a wife, widow and mother of two families. It is her formidable will that steers them through the Great Depression and the early years of World War II. But she cannot prevent the conflict between Italian and American values.
This was a wonderful experience and merits a wonderful sequel.
This was one of the best mini series I have ever seen. I would love to own it. Is there any way that I can purchase the series on VHS or DVD???????? This role seemed so natural for Ms Loren and offered Mr. Olmose the opportunity to really play a truly humane character.
The setting was so realistic and the music score WONDERFUL, truly beautiful. All the actors were superb in their roles .
I would love to see a sequel to this, but only if Olmos and Loren could somehow be used. The daughter who contracted TB would also be a real asset to a sequel. I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if different actors played the roles in such a sequel.
