Goofs

When Sam is picked up from the building, with a rope ladder hanging from the belly of the the B-29, for a brief moment the landing skids of a helicopter are visible.

However, as the Aspect ratio listed for the film is 1.33 : 1 (negative ratio) 1.85 : 1 (intended ratio), it leads me to believe we're seeing things that were meant to be "matted" out at the top and bottom to make the aspect ratio 1.85 : 1. There is also a scene where the religious group is shooting or doing a commercial and we see a boom microphone at the bottom of the screen. This also would have been "matted" out at 1.85 : 1. A surprise gem!
11 March 2011 | by crystalartSee all my reviews

I've been collecting Dennis Hopper films for some time. Tonight I decided to watch "Riders of the Storm" and I'm happily impressed! I bought a VHS copy of it on line for less than $2.00, and a DVD version is over $30.! This movie falls in the category of "Off Beat" or beyond.

Hopper played a Vietnam vet in "Apocalpse Now", but this one is much, much closer to one of my all time favorites, "O.C. & Stiggs".

My first reaction (and it's still playing), is that it's a combination of "Max Headroom" and "Pray TV".

Wonderful entertainment if you like the style.

Hope you can find a copy.
