A group of assorted Americans survive a plane crash in a Caribbean island, and discover it is infested with crawling snakes and other venomous beasts. Even worse, terrorists are preparing a full out war on America with a biological weapon.
Taking place after the events of part two, where Roger Smith's twin sons Adlai and Dick are born; one of them is suddenly kidnapped and taught to be evil while Adlai is determined to foil the fiendish plot and save Tromaville.
This is the story of Melvin, the Tromaville Health Club mop boy, who inadvertently and naively trusts the hedonistic, contemptuous and vain health club members, to the point of accidentally ending up in a vat of toxic waste. The devastating results then have a transmogrification effect, his alter ego is released, and the Toxic Avenger is born, to deadly and comical results. The local mop boy is now the local Superhero, the saviour of corruption, thuggish bullies and indifference. Troma classic with good make-up effects and stunts, a pleasant surprise indeed.Written by

There's clearly blood on the milkshake machine, which disappears when Toxie switches it on. Probably considered a continuity error by the filmmakers, while they were shooting multiple takes over this "death" scene. See more »

USA Network's TV version that ran in the middle 1990s has at least two scenes not included in the Lightning Media/Video Treasures unrated VHS releases. One is a "pull my finger" gag that was cut. Another was a scene of Wanda and Julie showing up at the police station, complaining of what the Toxic Avenger did to them: cut hair or forced to sit on hot stones. See more »
Rated R for Strong Violence/Gore,Sexuality,Nudity and Language.
The Toxic Avenger is one of those "so bad its good" Troma made films. This is the only Troma film I have seen fully though I saw a bit of Class Of Nukem High.I saw this a while back on the channel Drive In Classics. The Toxic Avenger is a great movie.Yes it is cheaply made but it has a great mix of gore and comedy. The movie is about a geek who one day falls into a batch of toxic waste. He then becomes this deformed "superhero".He basically then fights crime while befriending a blind girl. The Toxic Avenger spawned three sequels, none of which I have seen. The Toxic Avenger is a great movie and if you like those entertaining "so bad its good" films, then I recommend it.
