Storyline

What starts off as a bizarre re-telling of the Chinese legend "Journey to the West" quickly transforms into pure madness. On a twisted version of Earth, the ridiculously strong child-fighter Son Gokû is joined by several companions in the quest for the seven "dragon balls", which, when assembled, will summon the Grand Dragon, who will grant the bearer of the balls one single wish. The problem is, the Grand Dragon can only be invoked once a year, and villains battle Goku and friends constantly for possession of the Dragon Balls. Written by Mike Toole <micabob@ix.netcom.com>

Trivia

The Hungarian dubbing actor for Piccolo used an incredibly raspy voice because he initially thought the character would only make a brief appearance. Piccolo actually became a major character, and voicing him for so long helped the actor clean his throat, curing a bad infection he had been suffering from at the time. See more »

Dragonball
6 November 2002 | by TheMan3051See all my reviews

Dragonball is an amazing show. Which is exciting, humorous, and stylish. The characters are nicely developed and the fighting sequences are nicely choreographed too. And while I haven't seen the original Japanese version, the censored American version is still fun and exciting to watch.
