Trivia

To create the roar of the monster, Sound Supervisor Jeffrey L. Sandler asked his son Robert Sandler to come up with something scary. The monster's roar was a dog & cat fight, played backward, and slowed down. And to test it's effectiveness, speakers were set up at the ends of 4 long hallways at Glen Glenn Sound in Burbank,Ca. With the lights out, Jeffrey and Robert played the effect...they were both too scared to walk down the hall alone to turn the lights back on. See more »

A fun romp with an eighties classic horror!
21 January 1999 | by pablo-28See all my reviews

This was the first horror film my parents ever took me to in a movie theater. I was only 11 yrs old when I first watched this film, and I remained mentally scarred for many years to follow. (I couldn't enter the garage by myself without first looking under our car to check for teeth and tentacles). This is certainly a silly movie by today's horror standards, but scary enough to give any child nightmares for awhile. Come on folks and watch it with your kids!
