Young and awkward, U.S. Coast Guard Ensign Thomas Garland suffers from constant comparison with his late father, a war hero. Thomas falls for pretty Kate Fairchild, a young woman who runs a sailing school. Thomas's awkward attempts to makes moves on Kate repeatedly backfire, and things go from bad to worse when a trio of clumsy jewel thieves interferes.
