When Bama is in the hospital, he begins dealing out a game of Solitaire. He flips over the first few top cards before the doctor arrives. When the camera zooms to Bama and he tells the doctor "Bring me my pants", all of the top cards have been flipped over. When the camera returns to the room view, Bama proceeds with flipping over the next top card.
When Dave is driving Bama home from the hospital, he gets out of the car and Bama slides over to the driver's seat. Dave asks if he'll be alright driving with one hand. Bama takes the wheel with his injured arm instead of his right arm.
Although Sinatra's uniform appears to "lack rank insignia", it is likely that his character is a Private. in WW II a Private had no rank insignia. A single chevron indicated Private First Class until 1968. Also in WW II enlisted men did not wear collar branch insignia on class B khaki uniforms until shortly before the Korean War. Sinatra's character obviously served in the infantry, since he wears the Combat Infantryman's Badge above his left shirt pocket.
