Mickey guest-directs a radio orchestra. The sponsor loves the rehearsal, but come the actual performance, Goofy drops all the instruments under an elevator, so they sound like toys. The sponsor hates it, but the audience loves it anyway.

Storyline

Maestro Mikey 'Misha' Mouse's orchestra, starring Donald Duck on percussion, Goofy on bassoon, Clara on violin, a hen on Cello, plays well enough to be booked by impresario Sylvester Macaroni for his live radio program "Symphony Hour". Alas, when Goofy carries the instruments into the studio last minute, he gets them all crushed under the elevator, so the sound is all but melodious while the wreckage falls apart with every bar of music, and yet... A fine hour indeed.
9 November 2015 | by OllieSuave-007See all my reviews

In this classical music Disney cartoon, Mickey Mouse takes the baton again, like he did in the "The Band Concert" cartoon, and conducts an orchestra comprised of musicians Donald Duck, Goofy, Clara Cluck, Clarabelle Cow performing Franz von Suppé's Light Cavalry Overture. The symphony performed flawlessly during the rehearsal, but on the day of the concert, Goofy accidentally drops all the instruments down an elevator shaft, so, the music sounded a little out of whack when performed.

The musical piece sounded catchy and great and, during the actual concert portion, sounded funny and hilarious. It will send you roaring with laughter as you hear the funny music and see the musicians struggling with their crushed instruments and see poor Mickey struggling to keep the symphony in order while also trying to please the program sponsor.

As with many Disney cartoons, the ending will surprise you and, of course, a little miracle might happen. See for yourself and enjoy a fun time and hilarious time at the symphony! Grade A
