Trivia

For its 1945 re-release, screen credits were redesigned so that James Mason, who had originally received third billing in 1942, was now listed above the title, along with Margaret Lockwood, because of their new popularity, and recent successful teaming in The Wicked Lady (1945). See more »

The 33 Year Old James Mason
14 October 2003 | by Single-Black-MaleSee all my reviews

The Cambridge educated Yorkshireman had more of a local accent in his early films than a cultured voice. Films like 'Alibi' enabled Mason to pay his bills rather than display his talent. I admire the fact that he continued to ply his trade despite going unnoticed.
