Anachronisms

When Gable and Shearer are in the diner the year is 1919, right after the war. The song played in the background is "You Were Meant for Me" which was not written until 1929.

Continuity

In the middle of the "Puttin' on the Ritz" performance, the Les Blondes dancer second from the viewer's left is barely in step and not doing any arm movements because she is holding her costume's right-shoulder strap which has broken. The strap is no longer broken when it cuts back to the performers after a reaction shot of Norma Shearer.

Shearer is wearing shear hose while she is standing in the wings preparing to go-on and when we see her again in Gable's dressing room. But the flying Fellara girls are wearing darker, solid colored tights while performing their act.

When Les Blondes carry Harry Van off stage during the performance of "Puttin' on the Ritz", the costume strap slips off the right shoulders of the two dancers on the end at viewer's right. When it cuts to the next shot of them entering the adjoining room, the shoulder straps are in place.

Revealing mistakes

As Gable enters his hotel room after Shearer is waiting there for him, she pretends to do the act with his sock over her eyes, guessing that he is holding up a room key. He tosses his hat into a chair in front of the table where she is sitting. Instead of the hat staying at the back of the cushion, it bounces to the front, and he sits on his own hat.

During the air battle in the ending shot for the international market the background film is clearly looped since the same twin-tailed airplane (similar to an American P-38) flies past the window 8 times.

At the end of the "international" version, when Irene and Harry are singing the hymn, the last plane to dive by the window is noticeably slowed down on the rear-screen projection behind them. The same thing happens in the "domestic" version when Irene mentions Picadilly Circus.
