The Last Command (1928)
Gen. Dolgorucki: Why are you not in uniform?
Lev Andreyev: My lungs are weak.
Gen. Dolgorucki: Perhaps it is your courage that is weak.
Lev Andreyev: It doesn't require courage to send others to battle and death.
[the angry Duke uses his crop to whip Andreyev across the face]
Intertitle: [Opening intertitle] Hollywood - 1928. The magic empire of the Twentieth Century! The Mecca of the World!
Lev Andreyev: [about the Duke] Let him strut a little longer. His days are numbered!
Member of General Staff: [Listening at the door to what he perceives to be the Duke's seduction of Natali] That sort of thing should always be done after caviar.
Assistant director: [Seeing an extra having a false beard applied by a make-up man] Is that beard supposed to be Russian? It looks like an ad for cough drops!
