1917 storms to $9.5m in UK; Dolittle opens in South Korea on $6.8m.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is poised to cross the $1bn global box office milestone after a $39.3m session boosted the running total to $989.3m and pushed the international tally past $500m.

In other highlights, Sony’s Little Women crossed $100m worldwide and Universal/Amblin Partners’ 1917 debuted in the UK on $9.5m via eOne. Universal family adventure Dolittle starring Robert Downey Jr kicked off with $6.8m in South Korea, while thriller Underwater took $14.1m globally from its maiden voyage.
