Emmy slugfest 2019: Will Jane Lynch (‘Mrs. Maisel’) and her ‘2 roles’ win Best Comedy Guest Actress, or will Kristin Scott Thomas snatch it? [Watch]
“I’m going with Jane Lynch because she lost last year to Tiffany Haddish for her SNL stint,” Susan Wloszczyna says of the “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” actress. Lynch is an Emmy nominee for a second time as a guest comedy actress in the Amazon Prime series.

She also notes that her part as Sophie Lennon, a stand-up comic rival of Rachel Brosnahan’s Midge Maisel, makes a bigger contribution in the show’s second season, adding that Sophie was “crucial in many ways in what happens to Mrs. Maisel.” Also, Lynch’s character is actually two people. “She is pretending to be this hick comedian who makes fun of herself. But then when you see her in real life, she has a whole other role. So, it’s two roles in one.”

Wloszczyna discussed her reasons for picking Lynch, who is not lacking for trophies given that she has won four Primetime Emmys already.
