Two for the road? Alex Borstein is going for her second consecutive Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmy for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” and she ought to feel good about it because the last two champs in this category took home back-to-back statuettes.

In fact, if Borstein defends her title, it would be the fourth time this decade someone won two straight. Julie Bowen kicked it off with twin wins for “Modern Family” in 2011-12, Allison Janney scored for “Mom” in 2014-15, and Kate McKinnon became the first “Saturday Night Live” cast member to win in a regular acting category in 2016-17. The two outliers this decade are Jane Lynch and Merritt Wever, who continued her own trend of winning Emmys when no one expects her to when she prevailed for “Godless” last year.
