The studio is also planning to reimagine Night At The Museum and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid.
Disney pretty much owns the movie industry these days with the McU, Star Wars, and its incredible animation back catalog which it is slowly remaking as a live action series, film by film; The Lion King is the latest and has already grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
Next up, it sounds like Disney will be working through some of Fox's family friendly franchise titles now that the acquistion has gone through. And that's going to include Home Alone, Night At The Museum and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid.
During a Q3 earnings call Disney big boss Bob Iger said these titles would be getting a reimagining for streaming service Disney+ which is due to launch in November, though it's not certain whether this will be as a TV series or a film.
