Producer Joel Silver suggests Sherlock Holmes 3 could shoot this year, teases more sequels

Last month, Robert Downey Jr. suggested that a reunion with director Guy Ritchie and co-star Jude Law could be on the cards later this year for a third Sherlock Holmes movie, with Warner Bros. subsequently announcing that James Coyne (Vikingdom, Puncture Wounds) is penning the script. Now producer Joel Silver has reaffirmed to Collider that cameras could begin rolling in the fall as well as teasing the possibility of further extending the franchise beyond a third movie.

“It looks like it could happen this fall,” states Silver. “Downey said he wants to do it. He’s gotta launch into [Avengers: Infinity War], right after the New Year, so we’re trying to get it done.
