Emer Kenny talks Pramface: "Mean Girls is always an inspiration"

"Mean Girls is always an inspiration."

When it comes to playing vapid party girl Danielle Reeves on BBC Three comedy Pramface - returning for a third series this week - actress and writer Emer Kenny has two main sources of inspiration.

The first, she says, is real life - "Bitchy girls are never too far off when you're a young woman" - and the second is Lindsay Lohan's seminal 2004 teen flick.

"Danielle definitely has that Regina George kind of thing - 'You're either with me or you're not with me but please be with me' - she's a needy Queen Bee.

"Teen films and female comedies are a genre that I love, so I soak up that kind of thing without really thinking!"

It's perhaps unsurprising then that 24-year-old Kenny names Mean Girls writer Tina Fey as one of her heroes - along with other female performers like Mindy Kaling,
