Hearing a showrunner's public declaration that he's "sick of" your character would put the willies up most actors, prompting a few frantic calls to the agent. "Hi, it's David here, tell Strictly to bump Rustie Lee; I'll do it".

Not David Morrissey though, whose role as The Governor in The Walking Dead is far from over. Scott Gimple may be sick of him, but that doesn't mean he's out of favour with the show's executive producers, "It's not that we don't like that character; it's just that we needed to give that character a break" says Robert Kirkman. "Going right back into that would seem like more retread of season three, and that's the thing we don't want to do."
