Newcastle Transfer News: Pardew Interested In William Vainqueur?

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has not finished with his French revolution quite yet, and is weighing up the possibility of bringing in William Vainqueur from Standard Liege, according to The Sun

Pardew has already brought in the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gouffran, Mathieu Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Massadio Haidara as he desperately seeks a way to lift his side to safety in the Premier League, and Standard midfielder Vainqueur would become his sixth French signing.

It is thought Newcastle are lining up a last-minute bid for the player, who is valued at £3 million.

Pardew has been tracking the midfielder throughout the course of the season after receiving encouraging reports from chief scout Graham Carr, who has revealed that the Magpies are attempting to replicate the old blueprint of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal by bringing in a golden era of French stars by landing the likes of Thierry Henry,
