  • The Wrap
‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Creator on June’s ‘Act of War’ in Season 3 Finale: ‘She’s Doing This for Pain, Not for Pleasure’
(Warning: This post contains spoilers for “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 3 finale, “Mayday”)

More than 50 children made it out of Gilead on the Season 3 finale of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” titled “Mayday,” and it’s all thanks to June (Elisabeth Moss) who orchestrated a complicated plan with the Marthas and some of the other rebellious Handmaids to smuggle the young boys and girls safely into Canada, and stayed behind to make sure it all went smoothly.

And while she might be the savior responsible for the children’s brighter future in the Great White North, she’s still stuck within the borders of the dystopian society, wounded — though protected by the Handmaids who have grown to become her family — and certainly about to face the music for what she’s done.

“Handmaid’s Tale” creator Bruce Miller told TheWrap that Gilead will “absolutely not” stand for June’s betrayal on

‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ just booked its ticket to the 2020 Emmys with ‘Liars’

We’ve been sent good weather, because Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” got away with murder and one of its most gratifying outings to date. After 33 episodes of occasional glimmers of hope but predominant gloom and doom, the third season’s 11th hour, “Liars, which dropped July 31, finally gave viewers a taste of what resistance looks like in Gilead, and it couldn’t be more satisfying. The 2020 Emmy Awards may still be far away, but if Season 3’s first 10 previous episodes haven’t already, then this one ought to catapult “Handmaid’s” into next year’s drama series lineup.

In this installment, June (Elisabeth Moss) starts putting her plan of smuggling 52 children out of Gilead in place by enlisting a group of Marthas, who are initially hesitant but ultimately determined to help June. There’s just one problem: After attempting to escape the country with his wife, Commander Lawrence

Yvonne Strahovski Breaks Down Serena ‘Taking Charge of Her Life’ on ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Liars” and “Sacrifice,” the 11th and 12th episodes of the third season of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” streaming now on Hulu.

“Once upon a time, at the start of Gilead, Fred and Serena were truly intimate,” says Yvonne Strahovski. And for a brief moment, in the 11th episode of the third season of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” it seemed like they would be that way again. But, Strahovski’s Serena being as cunning as she is, and being so singularly focused of late on reuniting with baby Nichole (nee Holly), reconnecting with her husband came with an agenda.

In that 11th episode, entitled “Liars,” Serena and Fred (Joseph Fiennes) took a road trip. On their adventure he actually allowed her back behind the wheel of the car to drive for a stretch of open road, and she allowed him to be intimate with her.

The Five Best Yvonne Strahovski Movies of Her Career

It’s easy to assume that you might not know a lot about Yvonne Strahovski since in a lot of her movies she seems to be kind of a bit player or a supporting actor, but that doesn’t diminish the impact that she has since her characters are typically those that do add to the plot and give some sense that she’s there to support one or more of the main characters. That being said she’s been front and present as well in some movies but to be honest it would be great to see what might come if she was
