Two-time Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver will join Naomi Watts and Andrew Lincoln in the family drama “Penguin Bloom.”

Weaver will portray the mother of Watts’ character in the drama, which follows a young family on Sydney’s northern beaches who must come to terms with a near-fatal accident that leaves their mother paralyzed. As they learn to adjust to her new situation, an unlikely ally enters their lives in the form of an injured Magpie chick, dubbed “Penguin” by the family.

YouTube Stars Jenn McAllister, Lauren Elizabeth Star In Trailer For ‘Bad Night’ Film

Jenn McAllister and Lauren Elizabeth Luthringshausen are set to join the list of YouTube creators who have starred in feature films, and in a new trailer, they have put their acting chops on display. McAllister and Luthringshausen take center stage in a brief video promoting Bad Night, which will arrive on Vimeo On Demand on July 21st, 2015.

In Bad Night, McAllister and Luthringshausen (the latter of whom recently surpassed one million subscribers) co-star as AP Art History classmates who find themselves in serious trouble after attempting to pull off a high-profile art heist. The two YouTube stars will be surrounded by an impressive supporting cast. Familiar faces who appear in the trailer include Matt Walsh, Jack McBreyer, and Jim O’Heir.

Bad Night, which was first announced in February, comes from production company Grb Entertainment, directors Chris and Nick Riedell, and producers McAllister, Luthringshausen, Aj Tesler, Byron Austen Ashley, and Rana Zand.

Lauren Elizabeth, Jenn McAllister’s Feature Film Gets June 21 Release Date

Back in February 2015, Grb Entertainment announced the upcoming film Bad Night starring YouTube celebrities Lauren Elizabeth (known as LoveLaurenElizabeth) and Jenn McAllister (aka JennXPenn). Now, the production house, known for reality TV series such as Intervention, has set an official release date for its first feature film. Bad Night will premiere on June 21, 2015.

Bad Night stars Elizabeth and McAllister (who boast over 3 million subscribers between their two YouTube channels) as two high school students who are mistaken for art thieves after they get into the wrong car during a class field trip. Variety, who originally broke the story, reports the Grb-produced film will be digitally released through Vimeo on Demand on June 21.

Lauren Elizabeth, Jenn McAllister To Headline Feature Film ‘Bad Night’

A pair of popular YouTubers are set to make their feature film debut. Lauren Elizabeth (aka LoveLaurenElizabeth) and Jenn McAllister (aka JennXPenn) are set to star in Bad Night, a film produced by Grb Entertainment.

Bad Night, which was announced at Playlist Live, will be the first film from Grb, which is best known for producing reality TV shows like A&E's Intervention. The project will star McAllister and Elizabeth as a pair of high school students who get lost during a class field trip. That plot summary, with its school-based shenanigans, resembles Cameron Dallas vehicle Expelled, another film led by an online video star.

The similarities between Bad Night and Expelled run a lot deeper than their respective plots. Expelled brought partners from the AwesomenessTV multi-channel network to the big screen, and both Elizabeth and McAllister are represented by Big Frame, the talent management company owned by AwesomenessTV.
