Did You Know?

In 1940, while hosting the "Club Matinee" radio show, Sherman presided over a "rename-the-Morfit" contest, for which a woman won $50 and in the process gave future game show/variety host Gary Moore his professional name. Moore often referred to Sherman in later years as "the man who taught me all I know".
