‘Dickinson’ Corrects the Narrative on Emily Dickinson’s Queerness, Humor, and Spirit
It’s been a very good year for Emily Dickinson fans — and even better for the gay ones. Earlier this year saw the release of “Wild Nights With Emily,” Madeleine Olnek’s whip-smart romp starring none other than comedy icon Molly Shannon as the long misunderstood poet. Aside from being wildly entertaining, the film helped to re-vamp Dickinson’s image as a reclusive spinster — a myth that helped sell her work to a sexist public and has been widely disputed by Dickinson scholars. Most vitally for Lgbtq fans of one of our greatest American poets, “Wild Nights With Emily” spotlighted her long term romantic relationship with her childhood best friend and sister-in-law, Susan.

“Dickinson,” one of the first original series from Apple TV+, accomplishes many of the same feats, albeit with a bigger budget and more screen time. Created by Alena Smith, “Dickinson” stars Hailee Steinfeld as a teenage version

Ranking The Films Of Kevin Smith Post “Jay And Silent Bob Reboot”

Last week, Kevin Smith released Jay and Silent Bob Reboot as a two night special through Fathom Events. The movie is a lot of fun and very much in the wheelhouse of Smith fans. To celebrate that release, as well as the upcoming further unveiling of the film through a Roadshow style release, complete with Smith Q&a’s after, I’m going to be updating my list of the filmmaker’s best work to date. This flick is another quality effort of his, though really just meant for the fans, as well as Smith himself. Still, if you get a chance to check it out, it’s well worth your time… The film is, obviously, a sequel to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, while being a bit of a rebook/remake as well. In fact, it’s also a satire of how Hollywood reboots all intellectual property these days.

‘Real Housewives’ Live: Molly Shannon, Vanessa Bayer and More Are Divine — Listen
Every once in awhile, the universe delivers a piece of comedy so brilliant, so unexpected, and so perfectly cast that you have to thank the gods of mass entertainment. Or you could just thank Andy Cohen — same difference. The mastermind behind Bravo’s wildly popular “Real Housewives” franchise has outdone himself yet again, this time with a live reading of an episode of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” with all the housewives played by some of the funniest women on the planet. Titled “Radio Andy Theater,” the show was recorded at the Peppermint Club in West Hollywood on September 13 before premiering on Cohen’s Sirius Xm radio show earlier this week.

For his pitch perfect rendition, Cohen assembled a veritable feast of comediennes in what has got to be one of the finest pieces of casting since “The Florida Project.” The cast includes Molly Shannon as Sonja Morgan

Jay And Silent Bob Reboot Gets an Avengers: Endgame-Style Poster

Kevin Smith has shared a new poster for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, and as you can see, it’s done in the same style as the character posters that were released for Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame. It’s not surprising that Smith would play around with the film’s marketing like this because he is a big fan of Marvel.

The poster features Jay (Jason Mewes) and Bob (Smith) looking like they’re ready to save the world with their stern expressions. But, in all reality, they are just trying to stop Hollywood from making a movie about the Bluntman and Chronic characters they inspired.

In One Month! Come see the @fathomevents screening of #JayAndSilentBobReboot on October 15th at a theater near you and get this cock-knockin’ poster Free (while supplies last)! And the show on Oct 17th is a double feature with “J&sb Strike Back”! Tix here: https://t.

‘Sextuplets’ Review (Netflix)

  • Nerdly
Stars: Marlon Wayans, Bresha Webb, Michael Ian Black, Glynn Turman, Debbi Morgan, Molly Shannon, Grace Junot, Robert Pralgo | Written by Rick Alvarez, Mike Glock, Marlon Wayans | Directed by Michael Tiddes

Sextuplets, directed by Michael Tiddes, stars Marlon Wayans as not one but six characters in a Peter Seller’s/Eddie Murphy inspired comedy. A feature that not surprisingly plays out more like the Nutty Professor than Dr Strangelove but is nothing like the disaster you would imagine. Sextuplets follows Alan, who is inspired by his pregnant wife, to track down his real family after her Judge father uncovers his original birth certificate. In his efforts, Alan discovers one sibling after another, more absurd and distinctive as time goes on.

Say what you will about Wayans as a performer. However, he and his entertainer family have created an empire of cinematic/television ventures that have shaped a highly successful level of entertainment for audiences.

Fab Five Grooming Expert Jonathan Van Ness On ‘Queer Eye’ Season 4, ‘Game Of Thrones’ Controversy & Bringing An End To ‘Gay Of Thrones’
For Jonathan Van Ness, best known as the grooming expert within Queer Eye’s Fab Five, the summer of 2019 came with mixed emotions. Seeing the Netflix reality series pick up six more Emmy nominations was, of course, cause for celebration. Just two months earlier, though, the pop culture aficionado said goodbye to HBO’s Game of Thrones, a series he and millions of others had loved—and with it, his Funny or Die short-form series Gay of Thrones—the combination of which was a somber affair.

With Queer Eye, Van Ness saw his life transform overnight, going from a celebrity hairstylist to an international celebrity, working on multiple fronts as a TV personality, author, political activist, and influencer. What some may not realize, though, is that Gay of Thrones was the project that put Van Ness on the map. Coming together five years before Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot, the

Marlon Wayans & Marlon Wayans in Trailer for 'Sextuplets' for Netflix

"Since we hit the road together, I've done things I've only seen on television." Netflix has just launched an official trailer for a new comedy from Marlon Wayans titled Sextuplets, and it looks as awful as it sounds and seems just from that title alone. From the director of the spoofs A Haunted House and Fifty Shades of Black comes a new comedy about an expecting father-to-be who discovers that he has many other siblings and tries to track them down before his baby is born. This is a spoof on, another comedy, maybe? But who cares, it looks terrible. Marlon Wayans stars in the lead role, and plays all the other siblings, much like Tyler Perry does in his movies. The cast also includes Molly Shannon, Glynn Turman, Bresha Webb, Debbi Morgan, and Michael Ian Black. Why do they still make these kind of movies? It looks so, so bad.

Kevin Smith has released the first trailer for his upcoming film Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, and if you’re a fan of Smith’s work, you’re probably going to love it! It looks like a lot of vulgar and silly fun with Smith poking a lot of fun at today’s pop culture! You’ll also get your first look at some cool cameos which include Matt Damon and even Ben Affleck, with whom Smith had a falling out years ago. Well, it looks like they patched things up and are willing to work together again!

This trailer is definitely Nsfw, as it’s filled with all kind of crazy red-band goodies! Smith also makes some jokes at his own expense. It’s also revealed that Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist is the new rebooted version of Chronic in the film.
