Dancing With the Stars Week 2 Recap: Did the Right Couple Go Home? Plus, How Does the Judges' Save Work?
After doling out critiques for nearly 30 seasons, Dancing With the Stars proved on Monday that it can handle a little constructive criticism of its own.

In the wake of last year’s polarizing cycle — in which multiple well-scored frontrunners got the boot early, but very dark horse Bobby Bones scored the Mirrorball — DWTS has heeded the advice of disgruntled fans who called for a change to the show’s structure.

Ryan Seacrest will return as the host of “American Idol” for the music competition’s third season on ABC.

Ryan Seacrest To Return As Host Of ‘American Idol’
He’ll be back. Ryan Seacrest has closed a deal to return to American Idol as host for the upcoming third season of the singing competition series on ABC, his 18th season overall.

The announcement follows speculation on whether Seacrest would be back for another season. In August, ABC revealed judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan would return for the new season, but Seacrest’s name was conspicuously missing. At the summer TCA press tour, ABC’s President of Entertainment Karey Burke revealed Seacrest was still in talks to return, but the network had not yet closed his deal. “We’re in ongoing conversations about Ryan returning and I am hopeful,” she said.

In addition to joining Perry, Richie and Bryan, Seacrest also will be re-teaming with in-house mentor Bobby Bones.

Emmys Take a Risk by Jumping on the No-Host Bandwagon

  • The Wrap
If it worked for the Oscars, it’ll work for the Emmys.

That, at least, seems to be the reasoning behind the decision not to have a host for Sunday’s 71st Primetime Emmy Awards. Seven months after a hostless Academy Awards show garnered positive reviews and saw an uptick in ratings, the Emmys will go the same route and hope for a similar result.

Speaking to the Television Critics Association in August, Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier admitted that the network, the show producers and the Television Academy considered the Oscars show in making their decision – but, he said, the real reason was to have more time to celebrate the shows that are competing for Emmys for the last time this year, including “Game of Thrones,” “Veep,” “The Big Bang Theory” and “Empire.”

Kim Kardashian put a lot of thought into choosing the perfect names for her little ones.
