The Austin Film Festival & Writers Conference (Aff) has unveiled a slate including the world premiere of Lawrence and Meg Kasdan’s Last Week at Ed’s as well as more than 20 other world, North American and Us premieres.

Running from October 24 to 31 in the Texas city of Austin, the festival will also host the world premiere of Pilgrim, an upcoming fearture-length episode of Hulu and Blumhouse Television’s Into The Dark anthology series.

Publicist Jodie Magid Oriol has joined 42West as a Vice President in its New York Entertainment Marketing Division. Company Co-CEO’s Leslee Dart, Amanda Lundberg and Allan Mayer made the hire.

Prior to joining 42West, Oriol worked at Pmk-bnc, where she collaborated on such clients as filmmakers Marielle Heller and Aaron Sorkin, composer/lyricist and playwright Joe Iconis; multi-hyphenate Catherine Reitman and actress Rachel Bay Jones. In addition, she is also currently working with screenwriter/producer Charles Randolph and actor Roman Griffin Davis. Before joining Pmk, Oriol was a senior veep of publicity at Lionsgate.

Oriol will work closely with Dart, Lundberg and Entertainment Marketing Division Presidents Tom Piechura and Susan Ciccone.

Why Canadian Comedy ‘Workin’ Moms’ is Seeking the ‘Netflix Effect’

In terms of accolades, “Workin’ Moms” is at the top of the Canadian food chain. In two-and-a-half seasons the half-hour scripted comedy has garnered an International Emmy nomination, a dozen Canadian Screen Award nominations, and a 20% higher audience retention rate than the average series on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Meanwhile in its 2017 debut, the show also pulled in wins as the New York Festival’s World’s Best Comedy Television Program, and as the Most Innovative Canadian Production at the Banff World Media Festival.

With Canadian audiences locked up and a third season currently airing, the series is now looking to capitalize on the international market when the first season drops globally on Netflix Feb. 22, following in the footsteps of other CBC series like “Schitt’s Creek” and “Kim’s Convenience.”

Olivia Munn is setting the record straight about standing up to “Rush Hour” director Brett Ratner, whom she alleges sexually harassed her over a decade ago. During a panel discussion at the Emily’s List pre-Oscars brunch at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills Tuesday morning, Munn revealed that Ratner called her in 2011 after he denied her accusation that he masturbated in front of her, and instead claimed he had “banged her” but “forgot her.”

“I’ve never told any of this story publicly, I’m in my hotel room in New York,” Munn said, “And I get this Caller ID blocked number, and I answer the phone and it’s Brett.”

Netflix has picked up the Canadian mommy-comedy sitcom Workin' Moms by Black-ish star Catherine Reitman for territories outside of Canada including the U.S.

The daughter of Hollywood director Ivan Reitman writes, directs and stars in the the sitcom that has aired on the CBC network in Canada since Jan. 2017. "Workin' Moms later this winter is officially coming to the United States, along with the rest of the work, as a Netflix original," Reitman announced Thursday via video on her Twitter account.
