Parenthood, Ep. 5.04, “In Dreams Begin Responsibilities” quietly moves the season forward

Parenthood, Season 5, Episode 4: “In Dreams Begin Responsibilities”

Written by Gina Fattore

Directed by Patrick Norris

Airs Thursdays at 10pm (Est) on NBC

This week, on Parenthood: Victor channels his inner mechanic, Sarah and Amber almost avoid fighting, and Drew dodges the Friend Zone

Parenthood has been characteristically strong this season, with a string of memorable, effective episodes. That doesn’t change with “In Dreams Begin Responsibility”, but after three episodes of bigger moments, this week we get a bit of a table-setter, quietly moving various plots forward and setting up developments yet to come.

The biggest change comes with Adam, who decides he and Crosby should start their own label. The scenes between Adam and Mista Ray are a lot of fun and rather telling, as Adam’s self-centeredness is called out a bit, but more than that, they show Adam’s changing perspective on the campaign and

Parenthood, Ep. 5.03, “Nipple Confusion” a love letter to communication

Parenthood, Season 5, Episode 3: “Nipple Confusion”

Written by Sarah Watson

Directed by Patrick Norris

Airs Thursdays at 10pm (Est) on NBC

This week, on Parenthood: Drew has a terrible roommate, Sarah graduates to people, and Aida finally stops crying (temporarily)

One of the greatest obstacles in relationships, according to popular wisdom, is lack of communication. It doesn’t matter what kind, failing to listen to what someone is saying, verbally or nonverbally, or make yourself heard in return are surefire ways to allow a friendship, business partnership, or marriage dissolve. There’s always drama to be found in people’s inability to communicate, for one reason or another (horror movies would be over much faster if everyone had cell reception, for example), and yet very few TV shows seem particularly interested in exploring this or in prioritizing open, honest discourse among their characters. As demonstrated this week, Parenthood is

The Carrie Diaries Ep 1.12 “A First Time for Everything” and Everyone.

The Carrie Diaries, Season 1, Episode 12: “A First Time for Everything”

Written by Henry Alonso Myers

Directed by Patrick Norris

Airs Monday at 8pm (Et) on the CW

That’s not the only VIP Area You’re not Getting Into, Sebastian.

Short of deciding it was too pricey to redo the opening voice over with only one episode remaining, young Miss Bradshaw really carried this one up now didn’t she, letting her inner writer take over, getting caught up in the could be moments instead of the would be moments which all lead up to the (final?) demise of Kyddshaw.

Despite the non-cherry popping implosion of Carrie’s relationship the episode did get some use out of its title (“A First Time for Everything” ) Tom and the single mom, Mouse and West and potentially Dorrit? (feel free to cringe now). Side note if you lined up Mouse, Carrie and

Chuck, Ep. 5.02, “Chuck Versus the Bearded Bandit”: A surprising turn nearly saves a weak episode

Chuck Ep. 5.02, “Chuck Versus the Bearded Bandit”

Written by Lauren LeFranc and Rafe Judkins

Directed by Patrick Norris

Airs Fridays at 8pm (Et) on NBC

Over the past few seasons of Chuck, key revelations have clarified that Chuck Bartowski was more than just the guy who accidentally received the Intersect. His brain has the unique ability to handle the tremendous volume of information and special skills injected by the device. Chuck’s personality also remains intact, which keeps him from becoming too power-hungry. In last season’s “Chuck Versus the A-Team,” top CIA stars couldn’t handle this power with the same even-handed approach. Now that Morgan inadvertently has the Intersect in his head, will he face similar problems as those agents? The premiere mostly played his new role for laughs, but its follow-up shows that life isn’t so rosy for the lovable sidekick.

The majority of “Chuck Versus

'Friday Night Lights': Michael B. Jordan shares his favorite scene

Michael B. Jordan hit the ground running as "Friday Night Lights'" Vince Howard two seasons ago, filling the quarterback-shaped hole in our hearts left by the graduated Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford).

But this last season saw his character endure a downward spiral of bad decisions, testing our affections for him in the process.

"I heard whispers of it before the beginning of Season 5," Jordan tells Zap2it. "'You're going to become the number one quarterback and everything's going to be going great,' they said. I should have known what they meant I was going to get a big head, I was going to start to screw myself and everything was going to go to shambles. I was a little nervous about it, but everything can't be good all the time."

That's one of the reason's why Jordan loved his job on "Fnl." And while reminiscing about his time on the show,

Kingdom Come: Fry Bread and Breakdowns on Friday Night Lights

"Julie Taylor is a slut!" Let's be honest about this: we all knew that Derek Bishop was bad news and we all knew that it would come to this, a screaming match in a crowded college setting in which his wife railed at Julie for sleeping with her husband. Or at least, it's what I've suspected--and dreaded--for some time now. I've been upfront about my dislike for Julie Taylor's storyline this season and the way that her college experience, summed up by her relationship with doctoral candidate/Ta/fry bread-addict Derek has veered sharply into cliche, which is something that Friday Night Lights doesn't typically do. Julie's arc thus far this season has seemed to be the means to an end: the way to get Julie back to Dillon without her just dropping out of college, despite her ambition and her smarts. Enter the crazy wife of Derek, with
