Paul Dini was born on August 7, 1957 in New York City, New York, USA as Paul McClaran Dini. He is known for his work on Batman: The Animated Series (1992), Batman Beyond (1999) and Lost (2004). He has been married to Misty Lee since October 30, 2005.

Wrote the "Mad Love" story with Bruce Timm which was later featured in The New Batman Adventures (1997) TV series (1997-1999).

Perhaps famously known for creating the DC comics character, "Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel" aka Harley Quinn, for his friend, Arleen Sorkin. She made her first appearance in Batman: The Animated Series (1992) and was popular enough to be eventually inducted into the DC universe comic books in 1999.
He is credited for turning "Mr. Freeze" into the popular character he is now, because of the Batman: The Animated Series: Heart of Ice (1992) episode in Batman: The Animated Series (1992), which is often considered to be among the best of the series.
Along with his wife, he is a practicing magician.
In the direct to video movie Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright (2013), the character of magician The Great Pauldini is an homage to him.
One of the very few writers to have written stories for Batman in comics (Batman: Mad Love), television shows (Batman: The Animated Series (1992), The New Batman Adventures (1997) and Batman Beyond (1999)), a theatrical feature film (Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)) and the video games Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009) and Batman: Arkham City (2011).
