Being Peter [in the The Imitation Game (2014)] every day was quite an enjoyable process; being Guy in The Riot Club (2014) was quite horrible. Hearing those stories and trying to understand that mentality rather than to judge it, which is of course the instinct of any good person. Laura Wade, who wrote The Riot Club (2014), gave each of our characters a huge back-story, which allowed you to focus on how they got to this point and maybe sympathize with them. I got Peter straight away. He had a clear goal and said many times in real life that Bletchley was the most fun he's ever had. But The Riot Club (2014) was much more challenging.
