Lucy Boynton Misses ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ but ‘Not So Much the Filming’ of It
It’s been nearly eight months since “Bohemian Rhapsody” racked up four Oscars at the 2019 Academy Awards — losing out on Best Picture to “Green Book.” It’s hard to say which of the two controversial films winning Hollywood’s top prize would have angered more people — though the four wins for “Bohemian Rhapsody” were perplexing enough for many. (Especially its head-scratching win for best editing.) From defending the movie’s take on Freddie Mercury’s sexuality to weathering the removal of director Bryan Singer, breakout star Lucy Boynton was put through her paces promoting the blockbuster biopic about the late “Queen” frontman, which was mired in controversy long before the Oscars.

“It’s hard, because the further away you get from it, the more [certain] moments stand out and then everything [else] all kind of blurs,” Boynton said during a recent interview. “So I can’t see it as clearly as I

X-men: First Class Director Matthew Vaughn Wants To Direct Fantastic Four For Marvel Studios

Matthew Vaughn has made quite the directing career with adapting comic books for the big screen. He’s developed films such as Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, and Kingsman. But, there’s another Marvel project that he’d like to take on and that project is Fantastic Four.

While recently talking to Cb at Nycc, the filmmaker says that he would love to direct Fantastic Four for Marvel:

"Yeah I've always loved the idea of doing Fantastic Four as it was originally written. I mean it's one of my favorite comics and I actually think that Fantastic Four, as a nice piece of IP, is in theory as big as Spider-Man. I think those, the values of Fantastic Four and Spider-Man, I think those are the reason, if you're a kid, you can imagine being a part of the Fantastic Four family and you can imagine being Peter Parker. So yeah,

‘Rocketman’ DVD Review

  • Nerdly
Stars: Taron Edgerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, Bryce Dallas Howard, Gemma Jones, Steven Mackintosh, Tom Bennett, Charlie Rowe, Tate Donovan, Ophelia Lovibond, Celinde Schoenmaker, Stephen Graham, Sharon D. Clarke, Rachel Muldoon, Jimmy Vee | Written by Lee Hall | Directed by Dexter Fletcher

Rocketman, directed by Dexter Fletcher, stars Taron Edgerton as Rock and Roll legend Elton John; and it’s safe to say Fletcher’s film has had a rather strange path to cinema screens.

A long history of development hell in casting the lead role, notably having Tom Hardy in the headlights for some time, eventually leading him to drop out and Edgerton to take over. Director Dexter Fletcher has also had a strange run-up to the finalisation of Rocketman. After being pulled into directing duties and overseeing the edit of the incredibly poor and unattractive Freddie Mercury Queen biopic, in part of the original and notorious director Bryan Singer

Sherlock Holmes 3 Director Teases Plans for Long-Awaited Sequel
Dexter Fletcher has just opened up about his next directing gig, Sherlock Holmes 3. The Rocketman filmmaker is coming off of a very successful run, as he finished up Bohemian Rhapsody following Bryan Singer's departure, which worked out quite well, considering the financial success and awards season recognition. Plus, his Elton John biopic did well for itself critically and commercially, which helped him score the job helming the long-awaited third entry in this franchise.

Rocketman is making its way to home video and Dexter Fletcher has been making the press rounds to promote the release. During a recent interview, he was asked about what we can expect, in terms of style, since Guy Ritchie isn't returning this time around. Here's what Fletcher had to say about it.

"I think that's inevitable, isn't it? Whenever you have different filmmakers. I'm not gonna ignore what he did so brilliantly before. There will be an element of that,

10 Music Biopics You've Probably Forgotten About (That Aren't Rocketman)

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) and Rocketman (2019) released to thunderous media and audience buzz. The last year has been a landmark one in the music biopic circuit. Despite the controversy surrounding director Bryan Singer and rampant questions concerning the film's accuracy, Bohemian Rhapsody managed to demolish box office records and procure four Oscars (including the highly coveted Oscar for best actor). While it didn't quite measure up to Bohemian Rhapsody's lush box office success, Rocketman held its own, enjoying seemingly boundless praise for its production quality and for Taron Egerton's performance as the force of nature that is Elton John.

The continued evolution of the genre over the last two decades has constantly given filmmakers new and exciting ways to tackle the material, whether it be Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’s video game-inspired approach, Deadpool’s R-rated fourth-wall breaking or Black Panther’s reputation as a cultural milestone that saw it become the first superhero movie to ever be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

15 Iconic Movie Roles That Were Landed at the Last Minute

Jack Beresford Aug 6, 2019

Some of the big screen's most memorable performances came from actors who were cast just before the cameras started rolling...

This article comes from Den of Geek UK.

Good casting makes all the difference in the movie business. You can have a great script, a big budget, and the best director but without the right actors, everything can fall a little flat.

Yet even good casting can go wrong every now and then. Someone who once seemed perfect for a particular role suddenly falls flat once the cameras start rolling, unable to bring to life what they once successfully conveyed during an audition and initial screen test. Other times injuries, contractual obligations, or other unforeseen personal circumstances can put paid to the best-laid plans.

Then there are the dreaded “creative differences” where conflicts between actors and directors end with one of the injured parties exiting a project

Artist Behind ‘Once Upon a Time In…Hollywood’ Anti-Pedophilia Billboard Vandalism Says He Was Abused
The conservative street artist taking credit for vandalizing a Los Angeles billboard and bus stop advertisement for Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in…Hollywood” with anti-pedophilia messaging says he himself was abused.

The new billboard, which is located at the intersection of La Cienega Blvd. and Pico Blvd., was altered ahead of the film’s Friday opening to read “Once Upon a Time in… Pedowood,” with Jeffrey Epstein’s and Roman Polanski’s faces where the film’s stars, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, should be.

Artist Sabo has taken credit for the alteration on his website, where he revealed he prayed before the project, which he’s never done before. “I’ve never prayed before a project but I prayed before this one, in the names of all those children harmed by these monsters. I hope they all get caught and put behind bars,” he wrote.
