Does ‘Frozen II’ Have a Post-Credits Scene?
It might seem strange that it took Disney six years to get a sequel to “Frozen” together — after all, it was only the biggest animated movie ever at the global box office, and most studios would have turned around a follow-up as quickly as possible. But Disney, of course, has the luxury of time to try to make sure it gets the sequel right. So the media giant didn’t rush things, and now “Frozen II” has finally arrived.

Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven are all back in “Frozen II” for a new adventure, but the new film has a lot to live up to. The original “Frozen” was groundbreaking for how it reinvented the Disney princess template for the 21st Century, giving its two heroines a sense of real agency and establishing a strong relationship between two women that’s rarely seen on screen. And of course, the

‘Frozen II’ Skates to $8.5 Million at Thursday Box Office
Frozen II,” Disney’s follow-up to the pop culture phenomenon “Frozen” from 2013, brought in $8.5 million at the box office in Thursday night previews beginning at 6 p.m. It opens on over 4,300 screens this weekend.

The fall box office is finally set to heat up with the arrival of “Frozen II,” which the studio is projecting for an opening in the $100 million range, with trackers saying it should land between $105-115 million, though it could rise to $130 million if the excitement is as high as some trackers suspect. It opens opposite “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” which stars Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers, and the thriller “21 Bridges” starring Chadwick Boseman, both of which go wide in the last weekend before Thanksgiving.

Frozen II” already soared past all-time records for animated films in pre-sales on the ticketing site Fandango. So the comp to watch is “Incredibles 2,” which hit a

“Frozen II” Is A Music-Filled Sequel To The Smash Hit Animated Tale

When Frozen came out over half a decade ago and, no pun intended, set the world on fire, it was only a matter of time until Disney made a sequel. Now, Frozen II arrives, hoping to recapture the magic of that global cinematic sensation. Though not on the same level of that delightful romp, this musical adventure is still easily enjoyable and interestingly mature. More on this in a bit, but it’s notable that the filmmakers opted to recognize that the children who fell in love with Frozen in 2013 are older now. It gives a slightly new angle to what’s otherwise an occasionally repetitive tale. The movie is, obviously, a sequel to Frozen. This time around, change is coming. Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff), Olaf (voice of Josh Gad) and even Sven are about to embark on an

‘Frozen 2’: Princess Elsa Must Save Arendelle in New Trailer

You can breathe a sigh of relief, though — in the official trailer released this morning, the determined princess rises to the surface.

Set for release in November, the trailer features Princess Elsa attempting to save the kingdom of Arendelle. The Troll King, Grand Pabbie (Ciarán Hinds), advises the crew to cautiously head North across the enchanted lands to the unknown.

Movie Review – Elizabeth Harvest (2018)

Elizabeth Harvest, 2018.

Written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez.

Starring Abbey Lee, Ciarán Hinds, Carla Gugino, Dylan Baker, and Matthew Beard.

Synopsis:

A brilliant man marries a beautiful woman and shows her his home, stating that it’s all hers – except a room she can’t enter. First chance she enters and discovers what might be human cloning. When the husband returns she pays the price.

Elizabeth Harvest is a low-budget science fiction film that conveys its sci-fi concepts with ideas rather than in special effects and lavish set pieces. These types of films breathe new life into the genre, without the burdens and expectations of the big-budget studio sci-fi, and allow for exploration of the more cerebral aspects of the genre. Spectacle is wonderful, but I’ll forever be an advocate for the democratization of science fiction storytelling in any medium. And while I wouldn’t claim writer/director Sebastian

‘Elizabeth Harvest’ VOD Review

  • Nerdly
Stars: Abbey Lee, Ciarán Hinds, Carla Gugino, Matthew Beard, Dylan Baker | Written and Directed by Sebastian Gutierrez

As much as I love big budget sci-fi movies, there’s some great, much smaller budgeted, movies in this genre. I’ve always found that the best independent sci-fi movies are ones that come up with brilliant, creative and original ideas that work with very little money… And Elizabeth Harvest fits into this category nicely.

But don’t be thinking that this looks awful. As is proven again and again with indie movies, there is no excuse for them to look bad and Elizabeth Harvest looks like it has a much higher budget than it actually does. The camera work and cinematography are as good as, if not better, than some of the top sci-fi movies of the year.

Like the best sci-fi, Elizabeth Harvest has a complicated story that is made pretty

‘First Man’ Blu-ray Review

  • Nerdly
Stars: Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, Jason Clarke, Pablo Schreiber, Christopher Abbott, Ethan Embry, Ciarán Hinds, Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Shea Whigham, Patrick Fugit, Lukas Haas | Written by Josh Singer | Directed by Damien Chazelle

Damien Chazelle is hot off the heels with his fourth feature after two highly critically acclaimed entries into his vastly growing filmography: with the Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons starring vehicle Whiplash and with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the Oscar-winning musical/drama La La Land. Both ultimately bringing him to the forefront of young talent in Hollywood and the avenues for future endeavours endless. His follow up First Man, reuniting him with leading actor Gosling, takes him on a different path from the exploration of music rhythmic sections to a more nuanced and ultimately exhilarating path of restraint; albeit manic examination of a crowning achievement of mankind in the moon landings, but specifically the journey

Full Us Trailer for Stop-Motion 'Captain Morten and the Spider Queen'

"You're no captain, and that's no ship." The Orchard has released the official Us trailer for a stop-motion animated film titled Captain Morten and the Spider Queen, which is actually more of a kids fairy tale despite that ominous title. This premiered at the Annecy Film Festival last year, and is getting a direct-to-vod release in the Us in February. The film is about a ten year old boy who is waiting for his sailor father to return home. He accidentally floods a cafe and is magically shrunk down to the size of an insect, where he must find a way to sail his toy boat and outsmart the other insects in order to save the day. Featuring the voices of Michael McElhatton, Ciarán Hinds, Brendan Gleeson, and Susie Power. It's a very goofy film, with some seriously creepy character design. A bit too weird to be enjoyable but might entice a viewers.

Blu-ray Review: Elizabeth Harvest Re-Imagines Bluebeard

One of the many releases just out now from Scream Factory is the 2018 film Elizabeth Harvest, from Sebastian Gutierrez. It stars Abbey Lee (The Neon Demon), Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones), and Carla Gugino (Gerald's Game). The key cast is joined by Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game) and Dylan Baker (Happiness). You can read Martin's review here. Essentially, the new, mostly one-location horror/thriller film Elizabeth Harvest is a re-telling of the classic folklore/warped fairy tale of Bluebeard, who had a nasty habit of killing all of his young, beautiful wives because they entered a forbidden room while he was traveling. The biggest difference is that Elizabeth Harvest veers into Black Mirror territory, which I can say without giving anything away. I did, however, see the main twist coming, but for me,...
