However, ratings have not been great for the series, especially when compared to HBO’s other current programming. There have also been rumors that Aaron Sorkin’s extremely busy schedule may have been a factor in the decision to end the series at this point. On 2/10/14, TNT cancelled the short-lived freshman series. While the network claims it was an “event” series, creator Frank Darabont has previously indicated it was always intended to continue beyond its short first season. It seems as if TNT had given up and decided to dub it a “miniseries” in order to get possible nominations (Emmys, Golden Globes, etc.). They waited until the worst time of the year to launch a series (December) and the episodes were aired in traditional bun-off style with 2 each week. 60 min | Talk-Show
A talk show, hosted by Bethenny Frankel, that features interviews with many celebrities.
On 2/14/14, the Bethenny Frankel-hosted talk show was cancelled. Despite globally beloved Ellen DeGeneres (who Executive Produces the show) having Frankel on her own show many times to promote “Bethenny,” it did little to help. The decision to cancel the syndicated talk show came after it lost its affiliate clearances (approximately 70% of the country); mostly to the upcoming Meredith Vieira talk show. A last attempt at saving the show was airing specials on Bravo, the network that gave Frankel a name, but it ultimately failed. New episodes will continue through May 2014.

All stories are tied up. This was how we wanted to go :).” Witwer also stated “Wanted to tell a great story from beginning to end. We didn't want to bleed the concept dry Believe it or not -Artistic decision”. Being Human premiered in 2011 to record-breaking ratings for the network, making it Syfy’s most successful winter launch since 2005. The ratings have remained fairly steady over the years, so it looks like Witwer’s claims of the show ending on their own terms is accurate. The series finale will air April 7th.

On 7/13/14, Nickelodeon officially pulled the plug on the freshman series. The show was put on a “permanent hiatus” in April due to constant behind-the-scenes drama where the two leads allegedly did not get along. Jenette was apparently never happy with being on the show from the beginning and there were also rumors of upset over who received the bigger paycheck. There could have been other reasons for the cancellation, but this would not be the first time a show was cancelled over actors acting up. Nickelodeon is likely furious since this was their highest-rated series while airing. Only 35 episodes of the 40 were completed, the final one airing July 17th.

Many viewers have also begun to lose interest with the series, which may be a factor in the ratings dropping fairly low.

However, Larry Hagman passed away during the filming of season two and it caused the producers to re-write things to give JR Ewing a proper sendoff. Season two immediately saw the ratings plunge, but still received a renewal.
