1. Hellraiser (1987)

R | 94 min | Horror, Thriller

57 Metascore

An unfaithful wife encounters the zombie of her dead lover; the demonic cenobites are pursuing him after he escaped their sadomasochistic underworld.

Director: Clive Barker | Stars: Andrew Robinson, Clare Higgins, Ashley Laurence, Sean Chapman

Votes: 96,702 | Gross: $14.56M

Clive Barker directed this minor horror hit based on his novella The Hellbound Heart. Kirsty is a teen who discovers her wicked stepmother has taken up with her former lover; an undead, sadomasochistic beast who also happens to be Kirsty's uncle. When beings from another dimension arrive to set things right it's a toss up to see who'll make it out alive. Hellraiser isn't bad but it's not the classic some may have you believe either. It's occasionally scary, frequently gross and worth a look for fans. Followed by numerous sequels and a half dozen rip offs.

2. Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)

R | 97 min | Horror, Thriller

41 Metascore

Kirsty is brought to an institution after the death of her family, where the occult-obsessive head resurrects Julia and unleashes the Cenobites once again.

Director: Tony Randel | Stars: Doug Bradley, Ashley Laurence, Clare Higgins, Kenneth Cranham

Votes: 39,091 | Gross: $11.09M

Kirsty is institutionalized & probed by a sadomasochistic shrink with a hugely coincidental interest in the Lemarchand puzzle box; a mysterious device which permits people to enter another dimension in order to be tortured for eternity. When the rift into the hellish world of the cenobites is opened again, Kirsty must do battle with her wicked stepmother and a particularly nasty demonic entity called Pinhead (Doug PUMPKINHEAD III: ASHES TO ASHES Bradley cementing his reputation as a horror icon). Ably directed by Tony AMITYVILLE 1992: IT'S ABOUT TIME Randel.

3. Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992)

R | 97 min | Horror

50 Metascore

An investigative reporter must send the newly unbound Pinhead and his legions back to Hell.

Director: Anthony Hickox | Stars: Terry Farrell, Doug Bradley, Kevin Bernhardt, Lawrence Mortorff

Votes: 25,894 | Gross: $12.53M

Anthony WARLOCK: THE ARMAGEDDON Hickox directed this average sequel to HELLRAISER. Freed from his imprisonment on earth, the demonic cenobite Pinhead goes about establishing a new dominion of death and mutilation in downtown L.A. Ashley Lawrence has a cameo as Kirsty. Terry PAPER DOLLS Farrell stars as a young reporter hot on the trail of the Lemarchand puzzle box. Mildly absorbing but not very scary.

4. Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996)

R | 85 min | Horror, Sci-Fi

21 Metascore

In the 22nd century, a scientist attempts to right the wrong his ancestor created: the puzzle box that opens the gates of Hell and unleashes Pinhead and his Cenobite legions.

Director: Kevin Yagher | Stars: Bruce Ramsay, Valentina Vargas, Doug Bradley, Charlotte Chatton

Votes: 18,285 | Gross: $16.68M

Make-up artist Kevin Yeager directed this ambitious but flawed sequel to Hellraiser which finds the last survivor of the cursed Lemarchand family luring the evil cenobites into orbit for one final confrontation with Pinhead. Cuts to this film imposed by Dimension Films caused the director to remove his name from the credits and replaced with the infamous pseudonym Alan Smithee.

5. Hellraiser: Inferno (2000 Video)

R | 99 min | Crime, Horror, Mystery

A shady police detective becomes embroiled in a strange world of murder, sadism and madness after being assigned a murder investigation against a madman known only as "The Engineer".

Director: Scott Derrickson | Stars: Craig Sheffer, Nicholas Turturro, James Remar, Doug Bradley

Votes: 14,237

Scott THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE Derrickson directed this loosely connected and sub par sequel to HELLRAISER. A detective investigates a trail of corruption and murder in this occasionally stylish supernatural noir. Having run out of original story angles for the HELLRAISER franchise, Dimension began re-writing unproduced screenplays with a layer of the Pinhead mythology inserted here and there to generally poor effect.

6. Hellraiser: Hellseeker (2002 Video)

R | 89 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

46 Metascore

A shady businessman attempts to piece together the details of the car crash that killed his wife, rendered him an amnesiac, and left him in possession of a sinister puzzle box that summons monsters.

Director: Rick Bota | Stars: Dean Winters, Ashley Laurence, Doug Bradley, Rachel Hayward

Votes: 10,617

Ashley Lawrence returns to the role of Kirsty in this awful 6th entry in the HELLRAISER franchise as does Doug Pinhead Bradley. it's a confusing mess of a movie about infidelity, demonic portals and a boring mystery about who killed who. I'm not a follower of Rotten Tomatoes but I'll agree with their 0% rating for HELLRAISER: HELLSEEKER.

7. Hellraiser: Deader (2005 Video)

R | 88 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

A journalist uncovers an underground group who can bring back the dead and slowly becomes drawn into their world.

Director: Rick Bota | Stars: Kari Wuhrer, Paul Rhys, Simon Kunz, Marc Warren

Votes: 8,582

Rick HELLRAISER: HELLSEEKER Bota directed this lousy entry in the once-popular franchise. HELLRAISER: DEADER was based on an unproduced script re-written to incorporate a few minutes of cenobite action in the form of Pinhead; played by Doug Bradley. A cult of suicidal individuals assembled by a member of the LeMarchand family seeks to contact the Cenebites with the help of a reporter. Filmed in eastern Europe on the cheap concurrently with the equally awful HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD.

8. Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005 Video)

R | 91 min | Horror

Gamers playing a MMORPG based on the "Hellraiser" films find their lives endangered after being invited to a rave, the host of which intends to show them the truth behind the Cenobite mythos.

Director: Rick Bota | Stars: Lance Henriksen, Katheryn Winnick, Christopher Jacot, Khary Payton

Votes: 9,204

Rick Bota continues to butcher the HELLRAISER franchise with this eighth installment about a vengeful father played by Lance PUMPKINHEAD 4: BLOOD FUED Henriksen who hosts a party in honor of his son's favorite video game; Hellworld and the friends with whom he used to play. Shot back-to-back with the terrible HELLRAISER: DEADER.

9. Hellraiser: Revelations (2011)

R | 75 min | Horror

Two friends discover a puzzle box in Mexico, which unleashes cenobite Pinhead.

Director: Víctor García | Stars: Steven Brand, Nick Eversman, Tracey Fairaway, Sebastien Roberts

Votes: 6,574

Two friends driving through Mexico pick up a Lemarchand puzzle box and a hooker and only 1 of them makes it out alive. But the demonic cenobites are hot on his trail. Doug Pinhead Bradley refused to participate in this film when the studio offered him next to nothing to recreate his signature role. Stephen Collins took over the role of the lead cenobite but completely failed to win over fans. Dimension rushed this micro-budgeted sequel into production at the 11th hour simply as a means of maintaining control over the franchise.

10. Hellraiser: Judgment (2018 Video)

Not Rated | 81 min | Horror

Detectives Sean and David Carter are on the case to find a gruesome serial killer terrorizing the city. Joining forces with Detective Christine Egerton, they dig deeper into a spiraling maze of horror that may not be of this world.

Director: Gary J. Tunnicliffe | Stars: Damon Carney, Randy Wayne, Alexandra Harris, Heather Langenkamp

Votes: 4,288

Dimension is in a loveless marriage with the HELLRAISER franchise but refuses to let her go. Every couple of years they crank out something...anything!, just to hold onto sequel rights in the faint hope it will be successful again one day. Make up artist Gary WITHIN THE ROCK Tunnicliffe directed this flirty take on S&M in hell starring Tom SIN CITY Taylor as Pinhead and Randy ANDROID COP Wayne as a cop investigating a demonic murder. Heather A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET PART 3: THE DREAM WARRIORS Langenkamp takes 3rd billing but only has a blink and you've missed it cameo. Sometimes the gruesome makeup effects are pretty decent but nothing else is.

11. Sister, Sister (1987)

R | 91 min | Drama, Mystery, Romance

Two sisters turn their family mansion in Louisiana into a guest house. One of their guests is an aide to a congressman, and turns their lives inside out.

Director: Bill Condon | Stars: Eric Stoltz, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judith Ivey, Dennis Lipscomb

Votes: 762 | Gross: $0.74M

I love this movie a little more than most having grown up watching batty southern women in films like WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? and HUSH...HUSH, SWEET CHARLOTTE. The batty southern women here are portrayed by Judith DESIGNING WOMEN Ivy as an overprotective sister to Jennifer Jason BASTARD OUT OF CAROLINA Leigh. The sisters share a murderous secret about a boy who disappeared in the haunted swamps near their antebellum mansion which has been converted into a lovely bed and breakfast. Bill THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART II Condon effortlessly creates a poem for the eye as the director even when sometimes the finished script isn't as beautiful or polished as his work. SISTER, SISTER is one of the most overlooked and under appreciated horror films of the 1980s.

12. Shadow Play (1986)

R | 101 min | Mystery

A playwright who's staying with the mother of her fiance on a remote island, is haunted by his spirit, who is believed to have committed suicide.

Director: Susan Shadburne | Stars: Dee Wallace, Cloris Leachman, Ron Kuhlman, Barry Laws

Votes: 79

Dee THE HOWLING Wallace stars as a woman haunted by the death of her lover while visiting an island owned by his mother; Cloris TEXASVILLE Leachman. It's a rather bland and uninvolving tale we've all seen a dozen times only made tolerable by the fine performance of it's female leads.

13. The Pyx (1973)

R | 108 min | Horror, Thriller, Crime

A police detective uncovers a sinister occult explanation behind the mysterious death of a heroin-addicted prostitute.

Director: Harvey Hart | Stars: Karen Black, Christopher Plummer, Donald Pilon, Jean-Louis Roux

Votes: 714

THE PYX is an obscure Canadian murder mystery about a prostitute played by Karen AIRPORT 1975 Black who may have been murdered by devil worshippers and it's up to a detective to retrace the last days of her life. Christopher STARCRASH Plummer and Black are just fine in their starring roles but this challenging film is ineffective. It's arty in that annoying way bad art films can be. It doesn't grab you and shake you the way you'd expect a movie about a dead hooker and devil worshippers should. It's also very cheap looking and frequently dull. I gave it an extra star for the cast and because I know that it was rather ambitious for a Canadian film at the time of it's production.

14. Night of the Demon (1980)

Not Rated | 92 min | Horror

Professor Nugent and his students try to track down Bigfoot, but end up uncovering something more sinister at work.

Director: James C. Wasson | Stars: Michael Cutt, Joy Allen, Bob Collins, Jody Lazarus

Votes: 1,556

This is one of the better bigfoot movies floating around from that era. That's not to say it's good. It isn't. But it has enough gore and violence to at least hold your interest waiting for the next arm to be torn out from the roots. A university professor and his students go camping to discover the secret of bigfoot and are annihilated. It gained some notoriety in some markets because of the violence but I've seen worse.

15. Embryo (1976)

PG | 104 min | Horror, Sci-Fi

A scientist doing experiments on a human fetus discovers a method to accelerate the fetus into a mature adult in just a few days. However, the "adult" fetus turns into a homicidal psycho ... See full summary »

Director: Ralph Nelson | Stars: Rock Hudson, Barbara Carrera, Diane Ladd, Roddy McDowall

Votes: 1,202

Barbara DALLAS Carrera plays a murderous clone afflicted with rapid aging syndrome who will stop at nothing to stay alive even if it means killing her creator; a scientist played by Rock DYNASTY Hudson. EMBRYO never quite impresses as science fiction or horror but a nice cast might hold your attention till the bitter end.

16. Night Shadow (1989)

Not Rated | 91 min | Horror

Big shot TV newswoman returns home for a vacation, as several of the town's residents start dying under mysterious circumstances.

Director: Randolph Cohlan | Stars: Brenda Vance, Rick Scott, Stuart Quan, Alta LaFlame

Votes: 282

Boring tale of a werewolf on the prowl filmed so cheaply you'll barely notice there's even a werewolf there. Bland and poorly acted by an unfamiliar cast.

17. Dogman (2012)

Not Rated | 91 min | Thriller

Hanklin Purvis enjoys the outdoors, and he loves to hunt. He and his wife, Dorothy, live on a farm in the rural mid-west. For some reason, during the season before autumn, things start ... See full summary »

Director: Richard Brauer | Stars: Larry Joe Campbell, Mariann Mayberry, Kimberly Guerrero, Stacie Mitchell

Votes: 243

Richard DOGMAN 2: WRATH OF THE LITTER Brauer directed this from poverty feature about a dog-man attacking farm animals and people in a country town. Those bitten are infected with a deadly disease only the native community may understand and be able to treat. Cheap and boring beyond the endurance level of most. Followed by a sequel in 2014 starring the same cast of unknowns.

18. The Spider's Web (1960)

Unrated | 77 min | Horror

Survivors of a plane crash on a remote island find it is covered by spiders. When bitten, the survivors start turning into spiders!

Director: Fritz Böttger | Stars: Harald Maresch, Helga Franck, Alexander D'Arcy, Helga Neuner

Votes: 3,454

HORRORS OF SPIDER ISLAND is a German DOG filmed in B&W. It's easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. A group of cat-fighting models become stranded on an island and are then terrorized by a were-spider. Utter dreck.

19. Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959)

Approved | 62 min | Horror, Sci-Fi

A backwoods game warden and a local doctor discover that giant leeches are responsible for disappearances and deaths in a local swamp, but the local police don't believe them.

Director: Bernard L. Kowalski | Stars: Ken Clark, Yvette Vickers, Jan Shepard, Michael Emmet

Votes: 3,655

Bernard NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST Kowalski directed this Gene Corman production for American International Pictures. When radiation from the nearby rocket launch complex seeps into the swamp 2 giant leeches emerge from a cave dragging local bumpkins into their hole for feeding. Every bit as bad as you'd expect but not entirely without charm. Filmed in B&W. Remade in 2008.

20. Croc (2007 TV Movie)

Unrated | 100 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy

A huge man-eating crocodile terrorizes people near Krabi, Thailand. Michael Madsen plays a hunter stalking the beast, while a local tries to blame a foreign crocodile-farm owner for the crocodile's rampage.

Director: Stewart Raffill | Stars: Michael Madsen, Peter Tuinstra, Sherry Edwards, Elizabeth Healey

Votes: 1,350

A 20 foot long crocodile begins snacking on Taiwanese locals in this 6th entry in the Maneater series produced for the SYFY network. Others in the series include; SWAMP DEVIL, BEHEMOTH and SEA BEAST. I didn't hate it.

21. Lisl and the Lorlok (2011)

90 min | Drama, Fantasy

All families have problems, but some problems are scarier than others.

Director: Ignatius Fischer | Stars: Katerina Fischer, Bobbye Louise Ames, Ivan Borntrager, Kimberly Parmon

Votes: 21

LISL AND THE LORLOK was rather intriguing for a third of the way in. There we meet a family mourning the loss of an adventurous grandfather and a like-minded girl named Lisl who becomes fascinated by mysterious singing stones he discovered in his travels. The stones attract a spidery creature called a lorlok which poisons the minds of the adults around her. That's when the charm begins wearing thin and you're left waiting for the movie to pick up some steam or at least explain itself. It doesn't. Instead it throws an out-of-nowhere ending at you that reminded me of POLTERGEIST II: THE OTHER SIDE in the worst possible way. The young actress who played Lisl lacked charisma and the cg reveal of the Lorlok was handled badly. Close but no cigar

22. Zombeak (2006 Video)

72 min | Horror

On the darkest night of the year, when Satan is allowed free reign to walk the earth, a motley crew of Satanists kidnap a sharp tongued southern waitress to be a given up as the Dark One's ... See full summary »

Director: Sam Drog | Stars: Illya Allman, Barry Bishop, Sarah Frances Conkle, Stephanie Conkle

Votes: 108

Due to unforeseen events Satan is reborn on earth in the form of a demonic soul pecking chicken with a hankering for human breast and thighs. The zombies and humans do battle in order not to be damned forever in chicken hell. Occasionally bearable horror spoof made from chickenfeed.

23. They Crawl (2001)

R | 93 min | Horror, Sci-Fi, Thriller

After a terrifying incident of man, a policewoman detective needs to find a way to stop the creepy horde of roaches before it can kill more people.

Director: John Allardice | Stars: Daniel Cosgrove, Tamara Davies, Dennis Boutsikaris, Ken Lerner

Votes: 639

This occasionally gross but highly ineffective & forgettable horror pic was made for Italian television. A giant cockroach births swarms of flesh-eating babies. Nothing you haven't seen before and nothing you haven't seen done far better.

24. 100 Feet (2008)

R | 96 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

After Marnie Watson kills her abusive husband in self-defense, she is condemned to house arrest... only to discover that the house is possessed by the enraged and violent spirit of her dead husband.

Director: Eric Red | Stars: Famke Janssen, Bobby Cannavale, Ed Westwick, Michael Paré

Votes: 11,718

100 FEET has a rather clever set up; a woman who murders her abusive husband in self defense is sentenced to house arrest only to discover his evil spirit resides there with her. Famke THE FACULTY Jannsen stars and Eric THE HITCHER Red directs. 100 FEET was made by the Asylum who manage to turn everything to crap including this winning concept. This mishandling dashed what hopes there were for 100 FEET.

25. A Haunting in Salem (2011 Video)

R | 86 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

In this spine-chilling indie horror flick, a sheriff relocates to Salem, Mass., with his family -- only to discover that the house they've moved into is plagued by an ancient curse and haunted by malicious spirits.

Director: Shane Van Dyke | Stars: Bill Oberst Jr., Courtney Abbiati, Jenna Stone, Nicholas Harsin

Votes: 1,323

Shane TRANSMORPHERS 2 Van Dyke (son of Barry GALACTICA 1980 Van Dyke) directed this cheesy 3D haunted house pic for The Asylum. A sheriff is offered free lodging for him and his family in a beautiful old house in Salem. Downside: it's filled with the ghosts of witches. The scares are telegraphed from a mile away and most of the supernatural activity is also filmed from a distance in order to hide the fact it's cheap and unbelievable.

26. Paranormal Entity (2009 Video)

Not Rated | 88 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

Prepare to see what is allegedly the "actual footage" of the supernatural events leading up to the 2008 murder of Samantha Finley. Released against the wishes of the authorities, this D.V.D... See full summary »

Director: Shane Van Dyke | Stars: Erin Marie Hogan, Fia Perera, Norman Saleet, Shane Van Dyke

Votes: 4,600

Shane Van Dyke (grandson of Dick Van Dyke) directed and starred in this bottom of the barrel Asylum mockbusted of the not much better PARANORMAL ACTIVITY which had at least the saving grace of making a ton of money. Van Dyke plays the brother of a woman being repeatedly raped by an invisible demon. It's another found footage thing that looks as if it's suffering from epilepsy. Followed inexplicably by 3 sequels beginning with 8213 GACY HOUSE.

27. 8213: Gacy House (2010 Video)

Not Rated | 91 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

A group of investigators enter the former property of depraved serial killer John Wayne Gacy, hoping to find evidence of paranormal activity. Upon entering the place they set-up cameras ... See full summary »

Director: Anthony Fankhauser | Stars: Michael Gaglio, James Arthur Lewis, Brett Newton, Sylvia Panacione

Votes: 1,801

I'm not sure who these 'Paranormal Entity' films are suppose to appeal to; found footage aficionados or true crime junkies or people who watch ghost hunters on reality tv. You'd think The Asylum would have it's bases covered but 8213 GACY HOUSE doesn't cut it as even cheap exploitation. Paranormal investigators enter the home of notorious serial killer John Gacy and are bumped off while cameras lurch wildly and static crackles across the screen. Followed by ANNELIESE: THE EXORCIST TAPES

28. Anneliese: The Exorcist Tapes (2011 Video)

R | 91 min | Horror

Documentary covering the famous 'demonic possession' case of Anneliese Michel. The film features authentic footage of 'exorcisms' and other shocking events, considered to be the inspiration... See full summary »

Director: Jude Gerard Prest | Stars: Yaz Canli, Kai Cofer, Christopher Karl Johnson, Nikki Muller

Votes: 738

It's hard to gage whether Nikki Muller is good or not in her starring role as Anneliese because the part in so under written. She hisses and spits and licks the floor but her take on demonic possession is light years behind Linda Blairs legenday performance. And at no time does it become compelling viewing or scary. ANNELIESE THE EXORCIST TAPES is the 3rd film in The Asylems PARANORMAL ENTITY series (a shameless rip off of the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY movies) and falsely claims to be actual found footage of that infamous case of demonic possession. I'm no fan of the found footage genre. These things should come with a bottle of dramamine. At least the director makes some effort to keep the camera stationary through much of it. I'll rate this an extra star for that if nothing else.

29. 100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck (2012)

R | 84 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

In 2010, paranormal investigators tried to film Richard Speck's ghost at the site of his heinous killing spree. The victims' families have finally released the footage that documents their last days.

Director: Martin Wichmann Andersen | Stars: Steve Bencich, Tony Besson, Hayley Derryberry, Chance Harlem Jr.

Votes: 957

A who's who of who cares actors play paranormal investigators in this 4rth entry in the unpopular 'Paranormal Entity' franchise from The Asylum. The restless ghost of Richard Speck continues his killing spree from beyond the grave bumping off/raping a group of researchers who run screaming up and down dark hallways whenever a splash of blood or greenish ectoplasm appears on a wall. A few seconds of badly executed old school practical effects are cut into the terrible film to spice things up and imply more directly that this is supposed to be a horror film. Typical zero budget found footage fare masquerading as 'actual footage' because that's 'scarier'. DRECK!

30. Leprechaun (1993)

R | 92 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

17 Metascore

An evil, sadistic Leprechaun goes on a killing rampage in search of his beloved pot of gold.

Director: Mark Jones | Stars: Warwick Davis, Jennifer Aniston, Ken Olandt, Mark Holton

Votes: 21,753 | Gross: $8.56M

Mark RUMPLESTILTSKIN Jones directed this juvenile & bloody horror pic starring Warwick WILLOW Davis as a murderous leprechaun who believes Jennifer FRIENDS Anniston & her pals stole his pot of gold. The jokes aren't very funny but they do make this cheap slasher slightly easier to take. Followed 6 sequels to date.

31. Leprechaun 2 (1994)

R | 85 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

On his one thousandth birthday, an evil leprechaun selects the descendant of one of his slaves to have as his bride, leaving it up to the girl's boyfriend to save her.

Director: Rodman Flender | Stars: Warwick Davis, Charlie Heath, Shevonne Durkin, Sandy Baron

Votes: 8,193 | Gross: $2.26M

Rodman THE UNBORN Flender directed this tale of an evil leprechaun (Warwick EWOKS: THE BATTLE FOR ENDOR Davis) hunting for a teenage bride in L.A. Let the killing begin. Followed by LEPRECHAUN 3

32. Leprechaun 3 (1995 Video)

R | 90 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

An evil leprechaun finds himself in Las Vegas, where he proceeds to cause mischief by killing people, granting twisted wishes, and infecting a young man with his green blood.

Director: Brian Trenchard-Smith | Stars: Warwick Davis, John Gatins, Lee Armstrong, John DeMita

Votes: 6,282

Brian NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2 Trenchard-Smith directed this silly and violent slasher pic which holds 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. A statue of a leprechaun returns to life when the magic medallion it's wearing is removed. The inclusion of Caroline THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART 2 Williams in the cast was the only reason I gave this terrible direct-to-video hit a 3 star rating.

33. Leprechaun 4: In Space (1996 Video)

R | 95 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

Our deadly leprechaun is in space to woo a beautiful princess who is impressed with his gold and desires to separate him from it.

Director: Brian Trenchard-Smith | Stars: Warwick Davis, Brent Jasmer, Jessica Collins, Guy Siner

Votes: 6,086

Brian MEGIDDO: THE OMEGA CODE 2 Trenchard-Smith directed this fantasy/horror pic about the evil Princess Zarina preparing for her marriage to the Leprechaun (a decent performance by Warwick Davis). If the two don't kill each other they plan to rule her alien world. A platoon of space marines arrives in the nick of time. It's jaw-droppingly ridiculous and gross and nasty. It's also my favorite in the lowly franchise. And it's better than HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE and JASON X which also attempted to refresh their series by launching their monsters into outer space. Campy, crazy fun.

34. Leprechaun 5: In the Hood (2000 Video)

R | 90 min | Action, Comedy, Fantasy

When three rappers want to get even with a pimp, they accidentally unleash a leprechaun who goes on a killing rampage in tha 'hood.

Director: Rob Spera | Stars: Warwick Davis, Ice-T, Anthony Montgomery, Rashaan Nall

Votes: 5,960

This Blaxploitation-lite slasher pic finds rappers accidentally releasing the murderous leprechaun when his golden flute is stolen. Terrible. Followed by the even worse LEPRECHAUN: BACK 2 THE HOOD

35. Leprechaun 6: Back 2 Tha Hood (2003 Video)

R | 87 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

When Emily Woodrow and her friends happen on a treasure chest full of gold coins, they fail to heed the warnings of a wise old psychic, who had foretold that they would encounter trouble with a very nasty and protective Leprechaun.

Director: Steven Ayromlooi | Stars: Warwick Davis, Tangi Miller, Laz Alonso, Page Kennedy

Votes: 4,069

When a group of young people discover the Leprechaun's pot of gold temptation gets the better of them. As soon as gold is spent Warwick Davis returns for the 6th and final time to murder the lot of them. It's a poor entry in the lackluster series that killed the franchise for 11 years

36. Leprechaun: Origins (2014)

R | 90 min | Fantasy, Horror

Not related to the previous Leprechain films. Two young couples backpacking through Ireland discover that one of Ireland's most famous legends is a terrifying reality.

Director: Zach Lipovsky | Stars: Dylan Postl, Stephanie Bennett, Andrew Dunbar, Melissa Roxburgh

Votes: 4,657

This WWE Film starred wrestling superstar Hornswaggle as the vicious leprechaun in this franchise reboot which currently holds 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. I usually don't pay much attention to Rotten Tomatoes but this is one of those times we are in complete agreement. A group of hitch-hikers run afoul of a monstrous leprechaun with an eye for gold and a taste for blood. They also must contend with some country bumpkins who offer sacrifice to the creature so their own lives may be spared. Followed by LEPRECHAUN RETURNS.

37. Death Race 2000 (1975)

R | 80 min | Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi

59 Metascore

In a dystopian future, a cross country automobile race requires contestants to run down innocent pedestrians to gain points that are tallied based on each kill's brutality.

Director: Paul Bartel | Stars: David Carradine, Sylvester Stallone, Simone Griffeth, Mary Woronov

Votes: 23,335 | Gross: $8.00M

Paul EATING RAOUL Bartel directed this terrifically entertaining action pic starring David WAXWORK II: LOST IN TIME Carradine in the role of death race champion, Frankenstein. The object of the government sanctioned event is to rack up as many kills during a cross country race as possible with extra points awarded for babies and seniors. Frankensteins ultimate goal is to overthrow the evil government sponsoring the race. Producer Roger FORBIDDEN PLANET Corman cut much of the humor in favor of bloody mayhem but the underlying satire remains in tact. A young Sylvester RAMBO: LAST BLOOD Stallone co-stars.

38. Deathsport (1978)

R | 82 min | Action, Drama, Sci-Fi

Futuristic Science Fiction about a sport to the death, using "destructocycles".

Directors: Allan Arkush, Nicholas Niciphor, Roger Corman | Stars: David Carradine, Claudia Jennings, Richard Lynch, William Smithers

Votes: 1,354

David KILL BILL VOL 2 Carradine stars as a nomadic warrior wandering a devastated earth 1000 years in the future. Lord Zirpola captures nomads to do battle with his armed motorcyclist army in a duel to the death. DEATHSPORT was envisioned as a follow-up to the 1975 cult hit DEATH RACE 2000 but never once approximates that films energy, excitement or satire. Alan Arkush was brought in as director replacing Nicolas Niciphor

39. Death Race (2008)

R | 105 min | Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller

43 Metascore

Ex-con Jensen Ames is forced by the warden of a notorious prison to compete in our post-industrial world's most popular sport: a car race in which inmates must brutalize and kill one another on the road to victory.

Director: Paul W.S. Anderson | Stars: Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Tyrese Gibson, Ian McShane

Votes: 191,844 | Gross: $36.32M

Jason FAST & FURIOUS 6 Stratham stars as Frankenstein; a prisoner forced into a race loaded with death traps and deadly combatants in order to win his freedom. Legendary producer Roger Corman decided to make a sequel to 1975s DEATHRACE 2000 about the same time as Universal was creating it's own reboot of the franchise. Corman's idea was to return to the spirit of the original film and to embrace the satire which made it so special. DEATH RACE 2050 is a close copy of the concepts introduced by Paul EATING RAOUL Bartel in his film but instead of a light touch, they're applied with a ham fist. The special effects and stunt work were also left to starve at the back of the budget. This could have worked with some money and a little love. Stick to the original.

Don Michael MODELS INC Paul directed this 4rth film in the rebooted Death Race franchise for the direct-to-video market. A secret agent sent in to kill champion Frankenstein must decide to stay on afterwards as king; to be with the woman he loves. Sub par entertainment.
