  • Continuity: Toward the end of the film, Maggie dies in Austin, Texas. However, In "Lonesome Dove", which takes place approximately 16 years later, it is stated, by both Gus and Woodrow, that Maggie died in Lonesome Dove.

  • Continuity: In the original "Lonesome Dove", some 16 years later, when Jake comes back and says he is surprised to still find them in Lonesome Dove, Call says that nothing much has changed since Jake left. Jake leaves from Austin in "Comanche Moon", not Lonesome Dove.

  • Continuity: As Newt, Ikey, and Pearl are walking away from Maggie's funeral, and they stop at the bottom of the hill, Newt lets go of Ikey's hand. When the camera angle changes, he lets go of Ikey's hand again.
